Province applies multi-dimensional poverty line in 2016-2020
​BEGIC - Provincial People’s Committee has just promulgated the local multi-dimensional poverty line, which will be applied during 2016-2020 with new criteria on income and ability to access to basic social services, including education, healthcare services, housing, water, sanitation facilities, information…
​Thus, a household in the rural region with the monthly average income per person of VND1.2mln and below or VND1.2mln-VND1.6mln with the lack of 3 measurement indexes on approach to basic social services and above will be considered as a poor one. In the urban region, a household will be deemed poor if having the monthly average income per person of VND1.4mln and below or VND1.4mln-VND1.6mln with the lack of 3 measurement indexes on approach level to basic social services and above.
 
A near-poor household in the rural region is defined as having an income of over VND1.2mln-VND1.6mln per person per month with the lack of below 3 measurement indexes on approach level to basic social services. Meanwhile, a household in the urban region is considered as near-poor one if having an income of VND1.4mln-VND1.8mln per person per month and lacking below 3 measurement indexes on approach level to basic social services.
