Binh Duong dialogues with foreign enterprises

PORTAL - On the morning of July 11, at the Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center, the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) organized a Foreign Business Dialogue (English-speaking countries).

Attending were Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC; Mr. Pang Te Cheng - Consul General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City and leaders of departments, branches, and representatives of more than 80 foreign enterprises operating in Binh Duong province.

At the dialogue, the delegates listened to information from the Department of Planning and Investment about the province's socio-economic development and investment orientation. Accordingly, in the context of complex fluctuations in the political and economic situation in the world and the region, the PPC has proactively deployed tasks and solutions for socio-economic development. Thanks to that, production and business activities tend to recover positively, people's lives and workers' income improve.


Overview of the conference

In 2023, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) was estimated to increase by 5.97%, and GRDP per capita reached 172 million VND. The index of industrial production (IIP) increased by 4.92%, export turnover reached 30,9 billion USD. In the first 6 months of 2024, the province has attracted 824 million USD in foreign investment capital with 96 new projects, 60 projects to adjust capital increase, and 62 projects to contribute capital to buy shares. Accumulated to date, the whole province has 4,322 investment projects from 65 countries and territories with a total registered capital of nearly 41 billion USD.

The province also sets orientations to attract investment in high-tech, environmentally friendly industries and modern services. At the same time, it continues to expand international cooperation and promote smart city development.



Enterprises ask questions at the conference

At the conference, representatives of departments, and branches responded to enterprises' concerns related to issues of amending value-added tax (VAT) refund regulations; regulations on granting work permits to foreigners; construction permit procedures; preferential investment tax policies, incentives when expanding business investment; instructions and requirements for solar power installation to meet green production, etc.

Talking with enterprises, the Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung felt the difficulties of enterprises. The dialogue helped the provincial leaders fully grasp, clearly and more specifically the situation of production and business activities as well as the difficulties and problems of the foreign business community to focus on handling and disassembly. In addition, foreign branches and enterprises have more information about the socio-economic situation and upcoming development orientation of Binh Duong province, thereby enhancing understanding, sharing, and responsibility to achieve new victories together.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC emphasized that Binh Duong will continue to focus on improving the investment environment, maximally simplifying and making public, fully transparent, and timely administrative procedures and administrative document handling processes. The province will prioritize resources to continue investing in improving infrastructure, first of all in transportation infrastructure, power supply infrastructure, water supply and drainage infrastructure, and environmental treatment; expand and open new industrial zones and clusters, creating a clean land fund to attract investment. Deploying human resource training, building social housing, housing for workers, and providing adequate and timely labor resources for enterprises to invest.

At the same time, the province will focus on developing high-quality services to meet the production and business requirements of enterprises and the industrial and urban development needs of the province.
