​Economic growth has significantly changed

According to the report, in 2023, Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 5.97%; GRDP per capita reached 172 million VND. Economic structure of industry - service - agriculture - products taxes less subsidies on products with corresponding proportions of 66.26% - 23.71% - 2.64% - 7.39% respectively (the plan was 67.0% - 23.09% - 2.49% - 7.42%).

Economic growth (GRDP) has had a notable change, with the next quarter being higher than the previous quarter; in which the industry and construction sector continued to be the main growth driver of the entire economy, accounting for 66.26% of the structure and contributing about 70% to the increase in total added value. The service sector grew strongly, and the agricultural sector continued to develop stably.

Trade and services recovered quickly in all industries, and service and entertainment activities took place vibrantly. The supply of goods is abundant; and the Consumer Price Index is controlled. The province has effectively implemented the program to stabilize the market and reserve goods during holidays and Tet; the supply of essential food and raw materials is always guaranteed, so commodity prices are stable, without major fluctuations, meeting the production needs of enterprises and people's lives. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue are estimated at 303,853 billion VND, an increase of 13.5% compared to the previous year.

The industry internal structure has had positive changes, gradually reduced the mining industry, and shifted from labor-intensive industries to high-tech industries. However, there are still many enterprises that have had to reduce their orders and have to downsize or even stop operating. Therefore, the Index of industrial production (IIP) is estimated to increase by only 5.95% compared to the previous year (in 2022 it increased by 8.8%, the plan was to increase more than 8.7%)

Export turnover reached 31.8 billion USD, decreased by 7.3% compared to 2022; Import turnover reached 23.1 billion USD, decreased by 7%.

Total social development investment capital is estimated to be 164.300 billion VND, an increase of 11% compared to 2022.

By November 30, 2023, domestic investment has attracted 81.819 billion VND of registered business capital (decreased by 15.4% over the same period). Accumulated up to now, the whole province has 65.567 domestic enterprises with a total registered capital of 712.000 billion VND. Foreign investment has attracted 1 billion 467 million USD (reaching 81% of the plan, equal to 48% over the same period). Accumulated to date, the whole province has 4.211 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of 40.3 billion USD.

Binh Duong's economy continues to grow steadily

Agriculture has gradually transitioned from agricultural production to agricultural economy; continued to restructure in the direction of developing ecological agriculture, organic and circular agriculture with planting area codes and traceability.

Public investment reached a disbursement value about 9.400 billion VND higher than the same period. By December 01, 2023, the total disbursement value was 14.065 billion VND, reaching 64.5% of the provincial plan (the same period reached 45.8% of the plan) and reaching 115.4% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

The quality of planning has been gradually improved and positive results have been promoted in practice, creating new opportunities and development space when adjusting and formulating a number of new plans in the province. During the year, groundbreaking ceremony was held for 02 bidding packages under component project 5 of Ring Road No.3; regularly checking progress, urging and removing difficulties in key traffic projects: National Highway 13, Bac Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang road; continuing to coordinate with relevant localities and units to research and propose implementation of investment procedures for Ring Road No.3, Ring Road No.4, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway, etc.

Credit institutions have continued to operate effectively. Estimated budget revenue has reached 73.257 billion VND, reaching 98% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, an increase of 10% compared to implementation in 2022. Total implemented budget balancing expenditure is 33.235 billion VND, reaching 100% of the estimate at the beginning of the year.

The Project of Binh Duong Smart City, Binh Duong Innovation Region was honored by ICF as outstanding in 2023 (TOP1 ICF 2023). Reforming administrative procedures, digital transformation, building electronic government, providing full and partial online public services meet the needs and the aspirations of people.

Take good care of social security and people's spiritual life

Social security and welfare have been of concern; gratitude activities, mobilizing social resources to take care of the lives of people with meritorious services, policy beneficiaries, social beneficiaries, children, the poor and workers during holidays and Tet are carefully implemented. The province has spent more than 846 billion VND for Lunar New Year 2023, Vietnamese War Invalids and Martyrs' Day and Mid-Autumn Festival. In addition, the province has built and repaired 30 charity houses with a total cost of 02 billion VND. Vulnerable subjects and people with difficult circumstances in society have been taking care of, have access to, and enjoy social welfare policies, health care, education, vocational training, and find jobs to stabilize their lives.

Industries have regularly monitored the situation and organize connections between labor supply and demand as well as support workers who encounter difficulties and change suitable occupations. During the year, enterprises needed to recruit 35.569 workers; the province consulted and introduced jobs to 94.691 people. It is estimated to create additional jobs for 25.742 people (reaching 73.5% of the plan).

At the same time, receiving and processing more than 1.3 million applications for Social Insurance benefits; including 75.320 one-time Social Insurance benefits, 86,682 unemployment benefits with the amount of spent unemployment benefits being 1,992 billion VND (an increase of 390 billion VND).

The quality of general education and vocational education has continued to improve. The percentage of students completing the class program and students classified as good or very good both increased compared to the previous school year. Binh Duong won 31 prizes at the 2023 national excellent student contest. The rate of candidates passing graduation reached 99.75%; the grade point average of exam subjects reached 7.082 points, ranked 2^nd out of 63 provinces and cities in Viet Nam.

1500-bed General Hospital is about to come into operation

People's health care has been paid attention to and difficulties have been gradually removed. Medical examination and treatment facilities have ensured good medical examination and treatment for people; and ensured food safety and hygiene. At the same time, speeding up the progress of putting the 1500-bed General Hospital into operation. Strengthening propaganda and developing participation in social insurance and health insurance with an estimated rate of people participating in health insurance reaching over 92% by 2023.

At the same time, high-performance sports have achieved high rankings in national and international competitions. The provincial sports delegation ranked 08^th out of 65 in the entire delegation at the 9^th National Sports Games. The delegation sent athletes and the Vietnamese sports delegation to attend the 32^nd Southeast Asian Games and won 09 medals of all kinds.

Tourism activities have prospered; during the year, it attracted 2.5 million turns of visitors (up 39% over the same period), revenue reached 1,695 billion VND (up 21.1%).
