PORTAL - On the afternoon of March 14, at the Administration Center of Binh Duong province, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies received the delegation of CapitaLand Development Group (Singapore) led by Mr. Wong Kan Seng - Chairman of CapitaLand Development Group to pay a courtesy visit to the provincial leaders.
Also in attendance were Mr. Nguyen Van Danh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) and leaders of provincial departments, committees and branches.
At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Wong Kan Seng and the CapitaLand Development Group's Board of Directors to visit Binh Duong province after the Group signed a cooperation agreement with Becamex IDC on the Binh Duong Smart City development project with an investment of more than 500 million USD in Binh Duong New City at the end of 2021.
The Secretary said that the project has contributed to tightening investment cooperation between Binh Duong province and Singaporean partners, contributing to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Partnership. Over the past 50 years, the two countries have achieved great achievements in many fields. Especially in investment, up to now, Singapore is the second largest investor among 141 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with more than 3,000 projects and a total investment capital of 70 billion USD.
Particularly in Binh Duong province, Singapore is currently ranked 3rd among 65 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong with 277 projects and a total investment capital of more than 5.4 billion USD. Recently, the province also welcomed a delegation of Singaporean enterprises with more than 30 enterprises to explore investment and trade cooperation opportunities in Binh Duong.
The Secretary emphasized that, promoting the advantages gained, Binh Duong is actively investing in the development of modern and synchronous technical infrastructure, building a complete intra-regional and inter-regional transport system, creating favorable conditions for industrial-commercial-service development and planning for the construction of new urban areas. In the coming time, Binh Duong will deeply transform all fields, towards green, smart and sustainable development.
Overview of the meeting
Mr. Wong Kan Seng said, CapitaLand is a large real estate group in Asia with its head office located in Singapore, business operations present in 256 cities of 39 countries and territories, focusing on core markets of Singapore, China, India and Vietnam.
In Vietnam, besides developing housing and complex projects in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, CapitaLand is currently expanding its investment to neighboring localities, including Binh Duong, a dynamic developing province.
In December 2021, the Group signed a cooperation agreement with Becamex IDC Corp on the Binh Duong Smart City development project. The project focuses on developing housing blocks with a total area of 18.9 hectares. It is expected that more than apartments and houses for long-term ownership will be built in the project, including low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise housing, meeting the needs of about 13,000 residents. The construction will be carried out in phases, with the first phase consisting of about 1,300 apartments and houses expected to take place from 2022-2024. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2027.

He hoped that the provincial government would pay attention and support the Group so that the project could be implemented soon. Through the project, it will bring housing opportunities and convenient living areas for residents and workers to settle down and work with peace of mind.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi welcomed the project's vision and goals; and pledged that the province would actively create conditions for the project to be started soon.
