Chairman of Provincial People's Committee receives LEGO Group

​PORTAL - On the morning of March 01, at the Administration Center of Binh Duong province, Mr. Vo Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) received and worked with Mr. Preben ELNEF - Vice President of LEGO Group and General Director of LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam.

​At the meeting, Mr. Preben Enef informed provincial leaders about the progress of the Group's construction project of over-1.3 billion-USD factory in Vietnam - Singapore III Industrial Park (VSIP III). On behalf of the Group's leaders, he thanked the Binh Duong provincial government for creating all favorable conditions for LEGO Group to implement the project. The province has prepared the infrastructure, started to expand the DT.746B road - the arterial road leading to VSIP III and connecting with other important traffic routes. At the same time, quickly completing the work permit procedure to facilitate LEGO's foreign experts to work in Binh Duong.

In order for the Group to put the factory into operation in June 2024 according to the set schedule, Mr. Preben Enef wished the Binh Duong provincial government to quickly complete the land procedures. In addition, connecting to the 110kv grid, deploying solar power, appraising technical designs for fire prevention and fighting, etc. are also issues that LEGO cares about and wants the province to support to implement so that the Group can deploy the project as soon as possible.

Noting LEGO's recommendations at the meeting, the PPC Chairman Vo Van Minh said that provincial leaders and departments are particularly interested in and making efforts to speed up procedures related to LEGO's projects. Binh Duong provincial government will actively coordinate to complete the procedures for land use rights in March 2023 for the Group to implement the next steps of the project. At the same time, supporting recommendations to the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Southern Power Corporation to speed up the appraisal of fire prevention and fighting, connection to the power grid, etc.

Believing that LEGO's project will be implemented smoothly and successfully, the PPC Chairman pledged that the Binh Duong provincial government will always accompany, listen to aspirations, support the investor to remove difficulties for effective investment and production activities; actively contribute to the sustainable development of the province in the coming time.

In December 2021, LEGO Group (Denmark) signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate with Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Limited Company (VSIP) to invest 1 billion USD in building a factory in Binh Duong. This is the largest high-tech project since the Covid-19 pandemic invested in Binh Duong. The project uses renewable energy, solar energy and emissions of international standards, so it has a very positive impact on the environment and ecosystem. On March 19, 2022, the investment license was awarded to LEGO Group at the VSIP III Groundbreaking Ceremony. On November 03, 2022, LEGO Group started construction of the factory at VSIP III.
