​PORTAL - On the morning of September 23, at the Administrative Center of Binh Duong province, Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) hosted a reception for Mr. Nicolai Prytz - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Denmark in Vietnam to pay a courtesy visit.

​At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung gave an overview of the socio-economic development situation of Binh Duong province over the past time. Accordingly, despite being heavily affected by the recent Covid-19 pandemic, in the first 9 months of 2022, the province's GRDP growth reached nearly 8%, import and export turnover reached 9 billion USD; currently, Binh Duong attracts nearly 4,000 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total investment capital of nearly 40 billion USD from 65 countries and territories, of which Denmark ranks 9th in terms of registered capital.

He said that Danish enterprises have actively contributed to the socio-economic development of Binh Duong, especially recently LEGO Group has invested in building a factory worth 1 billion USD in the Vietnam - Singapore III Industrial Park. Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC affirmed that Binh Duong always creates the best conditions for FDI enterprises to operate effectively in Binh Duong, including Danish enterprises. Binh Duong wishes to cooperate with Denmark through specific projects related to the fields of infrastructure construction, environmental protection, wastewater treatment; the province will develop specific ideas and proposals in the near future

Mr. Nicolai Prytz thanked for the warm welcome of the provincial leaders, and expressed his impression of Binh Duong's development over the past time. He also learned more information about the industries that Binh Duong province prioritizes to attract investment in the coming time, especially high-tech industries. He wished that the leaders of Binh Duong province would continue to create the best conditions for Danish enterprises to promote efficiency in investment projects.

Mr. Nicolai Prytz affirmed that after his visit to Binh Duong, he will strengthen investment connections, cooperation, promote Binh Duong and create conditions for Danish enterprises to strengthen cooperation with the province. He hoped that in the future, the provincial government would continue to accompany and support LEGO Group in Binh Duong.

At the meeting, the Ambassador also informed provincial leaders about the visit and work of the Crown Prince of Denmark and the Princess in Binh Duong on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of the LEGO Group project, which is expected to take place on November 31, 2022.
