At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Van Danh affirmed that, over the years, Binh Duong has always been evaluated as one of the leading provinces and cities nationwide in terms of socio-economic development and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). Besides, the province always strives to improve the investment environment, reform administrative procedures, improve competitiveness to create an open and attractive investment environment. Europe is a potential investment partner for Binh Duong. Up to now, the province has 403 investment projects from 24 countries and territories of Europe with a total registered capital of more than 6.8 billion USD.
Over the past time, Binh Duong has actively promoted cooperation with European partners by coordinating to organize conferences, working online with localities, diplomatic missions, international organizations and partners from Europe such as the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, etc. In June 2022, the provincial leaders had a meeting with the Ambassador, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam to learn about the overview of macroeconomic development, administrative reforms of the province and share with the province about the green strategy of the EU. In particular, Binh Duong province has been honored in TOP 7 by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) as one of 07 communities with typical smart development strategies in the world for 2 consecutive years 2021 and 2022. This shows the development potential and advantages of attracting investment of Binh Duong. The Vice Chairman of the PPC hoped that after learning about the investment environment in Binh Duong, European enterprises will boldly and confidently invest in the province.
Overview of the meeting
On behalf of Eurocham, Mr. Erwin Debarea thanked the provincial government for the attention that the provincial government has given to European enterprises operating in the province. Binh Duong is considered by EU partners to be an attractive destination for "green" industry, he said. Areas that focus on attracting investment in the province such as high technology, digital transformation, response to climate change, environmental protection towards green growth and sustainable development are also areas of interest and priority for EU investors. He said that this is an opportunity for Eurocham to grasp more information about European trade and investment promotion in Binh Duong. He expressed his pleasure when European enterprises investing in Binh Duong develop very well and strongly. According to him, two important issues for European enterprises to choose to invest in Binh Duong are transparency and effective implementation of business support activities.
Mr. Erwin Debarea wished the provincial leaders would continue to help European enterprises in Binh Duong further to expand their business activities, thereby contributing to promoting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Europe. At the same time, supporting with Eurocham to organize a European investment promotion program in Binh Duong in the near future.
