The nucleus promotes strong development of industries

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the groundbreaking of VSIP III is an important and meaningful activity of the Party Committee, authorities and people of Binh Duong province; practically responding to the great policy of the Party and Government in realizing the dual goal of fighting the pandemic and developing the economy. The Prime Minister believes that with the investor's strong economic potential and many years of experience in the market, VSIP III will bring true value to residents as well as strong potential for economic development in the future. This very important project will play a central role in promoting the strong development of local industries and services, making an important contribution to the realization of the goals of Binh Duong province in the coming time; promising that once completed and put into operation, it will become a bright spot, a hot economic growth pole, and activate the region's real estate market. The successful project not only contributes to the socio-economic development of Binh Duong but also to the Southern region and the entire country. The project not only helps the overall development of industries and services but also promotes innovation, creating a premise for industry 4.0, sustainable development, new growth platforms for Vietnam; ensures the entire socio-economic of Binh Duong can reach further goals.

The Prime Minister proposed that leaders of branches, levels of the province and people in the project area coordinate well with the investor to ensure the project implementation in accordance with the law, on schedule, ensure quality, safety, efficiency, well protect the environment and ensure social security for local people. While focusing on building works of good quality, modern architecture, while paying attention to attracting reputable investors, projects with advanced technology content, high added value, and economic efficiency and making many contributions to the budget. In particular, priority will be given to projects that are strongly involved in the global supply chain and apply achievements from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

At the ceremony, the Singapore Ambassador to Vietnam affirmed that the VSIPs formed and developed over the past 25 years are a solid symbol of the good economic cooperation relationship between Singapore and Vietnam. Investors of VSIP (Sembcorp Development and Becamex IDC) will accompany Vietnam in the field of innovation, especially in renewable energy, and the development of green and sustainable industrial parks. VSIP III promises to be a model industrial park in the region in applying technology and innovation, developing a green and sustainable industrial park as the orientation of investors.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Vo Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized, Binh Duong province's leaders fully believe that VSIP III will soon be inaugurated and put into operation according to the set schedule; forming a favorable environment to serve investors in Binh Duong province in particular and the Southern key economic region in general; actively contributing to the integration, comprehensive and sustainable development of Vietnam in the future. Binh Duong provincial government is committed to creating the best conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises during the process of investment and business activities in the province.

Model of smart industrial park

VSIP III covers an area of 1,000 ha, with a vision to be a model of a smart and sustainable industrial park; designed to integrate smart technology in industrial park activities, from energy use, water, waste, to traffic management and security. The use of real-time monitoring devices to remotely monitor, analyze and optimize performance, enhances visual monitoring of activities that will make the industrial park safe, more reliable and efficient for customers and workers.

Possessing a prime location adjacent to existing VSIPs and the center of Binh Duong New City, and located on Ring Road 4, easy access to My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway, VSIP III has a convenient location with easy access to ports and airports, as well as connections to Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces.

Phase 1, 100ha of the project has qualified for the Green Mark of the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) for industrial parks, making this project one of the greenest and most sustainable working environments in Vietnam.

Another outstanding feature of VSIP III is its 50 hectare on-site solar farm that benefits reliability and sustainability in powering major customers in this industrial park. The first customer of the industrial park to have access to the planned solar farm is the LEGO Group of Denmark.

VSIP will also introduce programs to support Binh Duong province to improve labor productivity, sustainable growth and socio-economic development. Specifically, Sembcorp Group (VSIP shareholder) worked with Eastern International University (EIU) to establish the EIU-Sembcorp Centre for Sustainable Solutions to promote capacity building for students and transfer knowledge to lecturers on solar energy development. The second program aims to accelerate the application of 4.0 technology in the manufacturing industry of Vietnam. Becamex and Sembcorp, through VSIP, intend to invite Singapore Polytechnic International and Singapore-based Smart i4.0 Transformation Alliance (SiTA) to EIU to train students ready to approach future developments in the field of Industry 4.0. VSIP will also help small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises apply relevant industry 4.0 solutions to improve operational efficiency. ​Over time, the effectiveness of these programs will also contribute to the smart, sustainable and long-term development of the industrial park.
