At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi expressed his pleasure to welcome the Ambassador, and briefly introduced the socio-economic development achievements of Binh Duong province, especially in 25 years of construction and development.
In 2021, despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Binh Duong's socio-economic development was still quite stable. Up to now, Binh Duong has attracted nearly 40 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI). Among 64 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong, Japan ranks second with over 320 projects and a total investment capital of nearly 6 million USD, mainly in the fields of real estate, technical infrastructure, traffic, urban, technology. Japanese enterprises are operating very effectively, making positive contributions to the province's socio-economic development.

In 2022, the province will focus on starting construction of large industrial parks to attract industries with high value-added content and low labor intensiveness. At the same time, continuing to prioritize mobilizing all resources to focus on economic recovery and development synchronously and effectively with the Covid-19 prevention and control program in the 2022 – 2023 period; proactively removing obstacles in production and business activities; monitoring labor situation and labor recruitment needs of enterprises. At the same time, promoting administrative reform, towards building a digital government and digital transformation to meet the requirements of socio-economic development; gradually developing according to people's expectations in order to turn Binh Duong into a livable urban area.

Mr. Yamada Takio highly appreciated the rapid development of Binh Duong, and thanked the provincial government for always creating favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to invest and operate effectively locally. He said that many large Japanese enterprises and corporations have effectively invested in Binh Duong, such as Tokyu, Panasonic, Toshiba, etc., which confirms Binh Duong is a place with a very favorable investment environment.

He hoped that in the coming time, Japanese enterprises would continue to invest and develop in Binh Duong and suggested that the province strengthen training of high-quality human resources to meet the needs of Japanese enterprises.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi and Ambassador Yamada Takio agreed that in the coming time, many cooperation activities will be organized in the field of economic development as well as cultural and sports activities towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2023).
