PORTAL - One of the main causes leading to traffic accidents in recent years is the driver's participation in traffic after using alcohol, beer, and stimulants, etc. To ensure traffic order and safety in the area as well as prevent and reduce traffic accidents caused by beer, alcohol, the Traffic Police Division of Binh Duong province will strengthen its forces, arrange alcohol concentration checkpoints on all key roads and will implement it throughout 2022.

Following the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the national traffic police force patrol, control and handle violations under the theme "Vehicle drivers on the road with drugs in their bodies, violations of alcohol concentration", starting from March 01 to the end of December 31, 2022, Senior Colonel Pham Quang Truong - Deputy Head of the Binh Duong Provincial Traffic Police Division said that the traffic police force in the entire province have simultaneously organized a launch, set up checkpoints to control alcohol concentration on key routes as planned, strengthened inspection and strictly handled cases of vehicle drivers on the road with drugs in their bodies, violations of alcohol concentration.

Recorded at the alcohol concentration checkpoint on Binh Duong Boulevard by the National Highway 13 Traffic Police Station. Here, vehicles are guided to test alcohol concentration according to international experience. Accordingly, the driver follows the order of the traffic police, sits still in the car, lowers the glass and blows on the alcohol meter. If the meter indicates no alcohol concentration, the driver will continue driving. This method brings high efficiency, the number of drivers is checked, but it does not cause traffic jams and does not take much time for people. For cases of alcohol concentration violations, the traffic police force will make a record of handling and impound the vehicle according to regulations.

According to the Government's Decree 100/2019/ND-CP dated December 30, 2019 on sanctioning of administrative violations in the field of road and railway traffic, there are regulations on the level of fines for vehicle drivers participating in traffic in violation of alcohol concentration with the highest fine of 08 million VND for motorbikes; fines of up to 40 million VND for cars. Besides, violators will have their driving license revoked from 22-24 months.

Senior Colonel Pham Quang Truong - Deputy Head of the Binh Duong provincial Traffic Police Division added that in 2022, with the determination to reduce the number of people with alcohol concentration violations as well as reduce traffic accidents in the area, the Binh Duong provincial Traffic Police Division will continue to strengthen monitoring of the area, inspect and handle closed time frames as well as other violations of traffic order and safety. At the same time, the traffic police force will also actively propagate the harmful effects of beer and alcohol to all classes of people. Hopefully, with measures that both strengthen strict handling and promote propaganda, it will help limit the situation of driving and using alcohol and beer when participating in traffic, so that everyone, every family can be safe and happy.
