The Phu Giao district's general goal of socio-economic development in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050 will focus on promoting the development of high-tech agriculture, actively calling for investment in industrial development, including industry serving agricultural production, combined with promoting development of trade - services. Focusing on comprehensive development of cultural and social fields; successfully implementing the "dual goal" of Covid-19 prevention and control and economic and social recovery and development, ensuring security and defense, soon building Phu Giao district into a new-style enhanced rural district with sustainable development. In the 2021-2025 period, the economic structure of agriculture - industry - services is respectively 36.20% - 34.50% -29.30%, in the 2026-2030 period respectively 34.60% - 35.50 % - 29.90%, etc.

Regarding urban development planning, by 2030, Phu Giao is determined to be an agricultural - industrial - service district, by 2040 it will become an agricultural - industrial - service - urban district. Accordingly, the district is divided into 6 development zones: The Central Urban zone, the Eastern industrial development zone; Southern urban, agricultural and service development zone; Western urban, agricultural and service development zone; Northeast urban, agricultural and service development zone; Northern hi-tech agricultural development zone. Phuoc Vinh town (currently a grade V city) plays the role of the district's administrative, political, economic, cultural and social center and is oriented to upgrade to a grade IV city in the 2026-2030 period. In the 2030-2040 period, the district will form 04 new urban development areas: Phuoc Hoa new urban area, An Long new urban area, An Binh new urban area; Tam Lap industrial, urban and service area.
The district plans to develop 05 industrial parks: An Binh, Vinh Lap, Vinh Lap 2, Tam Lap, An Linh.
Phu Giao district also proposed to the Provincial People's Committee, departments and branches to speed up the implementation of key and framework infrastructure projects in Phu Giao district to make as a basis for connecting traffic, water supply and drainage serving the needs of social development and improving people's living standards, increasing the rate of budget adjustment retained for the district to ensure the investment capital in socio-economic infrastructure to meet the development needs of the district in the coming time, etc.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Minh highly appreciated the draft socio-economic development report and the urban development planning of Phu Giao district for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; especially the district has a fairly clear economic development orientation. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested the district base on the comments of the departments and branches to continue to review, supplement and improve. In particular, it is necessary to continue to study its strengths to add to the planning map. In the long term, Phu Giao needs to develop in the direction of agriculture - industry - urban areas – services; plan a new-style rural area associated with the process of urbanization, prioritize capital for lifeline traffic works to develop and keep green space for tourism and service development, etc.
