​PORTAL - On the morning of March 04, at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, the opening ceremony of stage 1 of the 12th Binh Duong International Women Cycling Tournament 2022 - Biwase Cup took place.

Attending were Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Pham Trong Nhan - Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; provincial leaders through the periods and donors.

Stage 1 around Binh Duong New City with the participation of 42 riders from 9 strong national women's teams includes: Biwase - Binh Duong, Binh Duong Elephant Fertilizer, Loc Troi Group, Dong Thap Lottery, Ho Chi Minh City - Vinama, Ho Chi Minh City NewGroup, An Giang pearl rice, Vinh Long, IRC Vinh Phuc.

According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee at the opening ceremony, at the last minute, the clubs of Malaysia and Thailand were unable to participate due to factors related to the Covid-19 prevention and control.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized that this is an important event to kick off a new season of Vietnamese cycling in 2022. This race is also an important tournament, helping to assess the level of the National Women's Road Cycling Team to prepare for participating in international competitions, especially the 31st Southeast Asian Games which will take place in May 2022 in Vietnam.

On the basis of experience and achievements achieved through 11 times of organization; especially the synchronous coordination between Binh Duong Water - Environment Joint Stock Company, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Binh Duong Television & Radio Station, this tournament promises to offer cycling fans spectacular breakthroughs on the route of 10 stages going through 07 provinces and cities in the Southeast and South Central regions, ensuring professional quality, worthy of the stature of the tournament that has been recognized in the Vietnamese cycling and contributing to Binh Duong province to effectively implement the policy of socialization in the field of Sports.

After the opening ceremony, the female racers entered the stage 1, 66 km long, cycling 3 laps around Binh Duong New City.

As a result of stage 1, athlete Nguyen Thi That of Loc Troi Group Joint Stock Company excellently won 10 sprint bonus points - blue shirt award. Athlete Dinh Thi Nhu Quynh of host Biwase excellently overcame her opponents, finishing stage 1 with a record of 1 hour 46 minutes 29 seconds. Dong Thap Lottery won the Team Prize of the stage, Biwase and Loc Troi Group Joint Stock Company ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.

On March 05, 2021, athletes will enter the stage 2: Thu Dau Mot - Ben Cat - Bau Bang - Hon Quan (Binh Phuoc) and return to Thu Dau Mot. This is a 140-km race, the longest of the 10 races of the tournament.
