Reporting to the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam - Chairman of Thuan An City People's Committee said that the Saigon River flowing through Thuan An city has a length of about 13.6km through Vinh Phu, Lai Thieu and Binh Nham wards and An Son commune. According to the planning, the road along the Saigon River connects from Ba Lua Bridge (Thu Dau Mot City) to Vinh Binh Bridge (Ho Chi Minh City) with a total length of 13.2km. Projects implemented along the Saigon River include: Residential area and resettlement in An Son commune; Eden - Thuan An high-rise residential area; Saigon riverside park; transport works; system of ports and inland wharves. Reporting on the relocation of manufacturing enterprises located outside industrial parks and clusters, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam - Chairman of the City People's Committee said that currently, the city has about 555 enterprises with high risk of causing environmental pollution. Most of these enterprises are small and medium-sized enterprises, with little investment capital, limited space, environmental protection has not been paid due attention, and waste treatment has not been adequately invested, causing negative impacts on the population community and causing difficulties in management and control and not in accordance with the local urban and industrial development planning. Since 2017, the City People's Committee has inspected 786 enterprises and individuals causing environmental pollution, and sanctioned administrative violations in 224 cases. Up to now, there are 37 cases that have not fully implemented the contents of the sanctioning decision. In addition, the City People's Committee has reported that there are about 505 enterprises and establishments located outside industrial parks and clusters that are at risk of causing environmental pollution, mainly including the following industries: Wood furniture production, mechanical processing, production of plastic products, ceramics, scrap trading, etc. In the past time, many enterprises in An Phu, Binh Chuan, Thuan Giao, Binh Hoa wards have relocated and converted the land use function to developing commerce - services, commercial housing in accordance with the approved and appropriate land use planning and plans according to local socio-economic development orientations.
The City People's Committee proposes that the province soon issue regulations on the principles, legal basis, and criteria for consideration for investment policies and extending the relocation time of enterprises to have a basis for mobilizing enterprises to relocate factories located outside industrial parks and clusters to industrial parks and clusters in the North of the province or to other locations in line with construction planning, land use planning, sector development planning and ensuring environmental protection.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in March 2022, the Department will advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and issue relocation criteria.
