​PORTAL - On the morning of February 14, at the Administrative Center of Binh Duong province, representatives of the Four Chinese states in Thu Dau Mot City came to congratulate the leaders of Binh Duong province on the occasion of the Lantern Festival - Full Moon Festival in January 2022.

​Receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vo Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Pham Van Chanh - Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of departments, committees and branches.

The Chinese community in Thu Dau Mot City currently has 1,457 households, with 11,382 people, including 4 states: Guangdong, Chaozhou, Fujian, Chongzheng. Over the years, the Chinese community has always well implemented the guidelines and lines of the Party and the policies and laws of the State, actively participated in movements, campaigns, social and charity programs mobilized by local authorities and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels. Particularly in 2021, the total amount spent on social work and charity is more than 6.8 billion VND.​​

The Full Moon Festival in January is a unique cultural activity in the spiritual and religious life of the Chinese community in particular and the people of Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province in general. This year, implementing guidance on ensuring the Covid-19 prevention and control, the Four Chinese states and the Board of Directors of Lady Thien Hau Temple did not hold the Co Ba procession at Lady Thien Hau Temple (Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot city), only organized the Co Ba procession around the New City on last February 09. The activities of the Full Moon Festival in January at Lady Thien Hau Temple and other pagodas and temples in Thu Dau Mot city also strictly comply with regulations on pandemic prevention, control, security and order and fire prevention and control.​

On behalf of provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha acknowledged the positive contributions of the Chinese community in economic development and creating cultural diversity in the province. In particular, the Four Chinese states have accompanied the province to overcome a very difficult period during the recent Covid-19 pandemic. Provincial leaders expected the people of the province in general and the Chinese community in particular to continue to well implement the guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State; contribute resources to successfully implement the province's socio-economic development programs. At the same time, continuing to preserve and promote the traditional cultural identity of the Chinese people in Binh Duong, especially maintaining and developing the Full Moon Festival in January to become a beauty in the traditional culture of the nation. Provincial leaders called on the Chinese community and different ethnic groups in the province to always unite, support each other, join hands to build Binh Duong homeland to develop more and more sustainable, civilized and modern.​
