The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development directs the Office of the Standing Committee of Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue to strictly implement the regime on duty for natural disaster prevention and control according to regulations, regularly monitor, update the weather situation of rain and storm; hydrological situation, water level of main rivers and national reservoirs; advise on timely and effective handling before, during and after natural disasters, minimizing damage.
In addition, directing regular inspection of works on irrigation, dike, natural disaster prevention and control, water drainage, etc., urgently repairing damaged works, especially the system of dikes, lakes and dams, works for prevention and control of landslides to prepare plans and scenarios to protect the safety of works, lives and properties of people in affected areas, including emergency situations of dikes, lakes and dams, and flood discharges; monitoring the remedial work and recovery after natural disasters; directing, inspecting, supervising and proposing solutions to improve efficiency in using resources for support, recovery and reconstruction after natural disasters.
The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities inspect, review, update, adjust and supplement specific disaster response plans, suitable to the local situation and conditions, especially the plan to relocate and evacuate people in the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, etc.
