The conference was held online to 63 provinces and cities and more than 400 bridge points at higher education institutions.
At Binh Duong bridge point, there were Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhat Hang - Director of Department of Education and Training (ET) and leaders of a number of related departments and branches.
Reporting at the conference, Deputy Minister of MOET Hoang Minh Son said that in the 2020-2021 school year, the ET branch was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The ET branch proactively and promptly adjusted the school year plan, guiding parents to nurture, care for and educate children while they were at home. At the same time, guiding the streamlining of the content of the 2nd semester general education program to ensure the core contents, flexibly apply online teaching, adjust year-end assessment regulations. This showed the efforts of the entire ET branch to overcome difficulties in order to well implement the motto of "stop going to school, not stop learning".
The quality of education at all levels and the effectiveness of educational activities have been improved. Last school year, the whole country had 100% of provincial and district level units and 99.3% of commune level units (up 8.8% compared to the 2015-2016 school year) maintaining the standards of universal preschool education for 5 year old children. There are 22/63 provinces and cities that have been recognized to meet the standard of universal primary education, reaching 35% (up 5% compared to the previous school year). The rate of students graduating from high school reached 98.6% (up 0.2%), the rate of students graduating from secondary school continuing to study at high school reached 97.5% (up 1.5%).
In the 2021-2022 school year, the ET branch actively develops a flexible plan, suitable to the local Covid-19 situation. Not organizing online teaching for preschool, having a combined form of face-to-face and online for grades 1 and 2; and at the same time guiding and supporting parents to nurture, care for and educate children at home in accordance with conditions. Making the most of face-to-face teaching time when the pandemic is under control.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared with the difficulties of the ET branch, teachers, education managers, pupils, and students when implementing school year tasks in pandemic conditions. On behalf of the Party, State, Government, the Prime Minister congratulated, recognized and praised the results of the ET branch achieved in the past school year. At the same time, he praised and recognized the spirit of the branch's participation in fighting the pandemic, especially the medical and pharmaceutical schools that volunteered to participate in the fight against the pandemic.
In the 2021-2022 school year, the Prime Minister emphasized two issues. Firstly, solving the problems of the 2021-2022 school year plan. Second, solving the existing problems of the branch, associated with the goal of implementing resolutions on educational development. The Prime Minister asked the ET branch to put anti-pandemic guidance into schools. Branches and levels care and support for teachers and staff who have to stop working or lose their jobs due to the impact of the pandemic; nutritional supplements for part-boarding students. Complying with pandemic prevention and control measures and early accessing to children's Covid-19 vaccines to ensure a safe learning environment.
In the 2020-2021 school year, Binh Duong ET branch has made efforts to overcome difficulties caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and achieved some outstanding results. The size of schools continued to increase rapidly, at the end of the school year, the entire branch had 719 schools and centers with 499,204 pupils and students. Facilities and equipment were invested in the direction of standardization and modernity. The number of schools meeting national standards accounted for 78.55%. In particular, the pass rate of high school graduation in 2021 reached 99.34%, the overall average score of the exam subjects was 7,030 points, ranking first in the country.
In the face of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic in the province, in 2021-2022 school year, Binh Duong students will be back to school on September 01, start on September 05 in the form of online; study online in September and October 2021. The province has agreed on the policy of waiving tuition fees for the 1st semester of public schools.
