The conference focused on discussing and assessing the situation of socio-economic development, defense and security of Binh Duong province in the first 6 months of the year and key tasks in the last 6 months of 2021. Reporting at the conference, Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee said that in the past 6 months, the Covid-19 pandemic continued to develop complicatedly and appeared many cases of infection in the community in Binh Duong. However, the province continued to achieve positive results in the implementation of the "dual goal" of preventing and controlling the spread of pandemic and promoting production and business.
The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 7.23% over the same period in 2020 (the same period increased by 6.73%). The index of industrial production (IIP) was estimated to increase by 8.23% over the same period in 2020 (the same period increased by 6.4%); there were 637 new enterprises put into operation. Total retail sales of goods and services in the first 6 months were estimated at 131,672 billion VND, up 10.4% over the same period. Export turnover was estimated to increase by 47.2%; import turnover was estimated to increase by 43.4%. As of June 30, 2021, the province attracted 52,981 billion VND of domestic investment capital (up 77.6% over the same period); attracted 01 billion 410 million USD of foreign investment (reaching 78.4% of the plan, up 46% over the same period). Estimated budget revenue was 36,600 billion VND, accounting for 62% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and the Prime Minister, up 23% over the same period. Total budget expenditure was 6,000 billion VND, reaching 23% of the estimate, down 4% over the same period.

According to Mr. Vo Van Minh – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the work of building the Party organization, building the political system, organizing cadres, training and fostering cadres was ensured, the rotation and appointment of cadres were concerned, led and directed for implementation. In the first 6 months of the year, the whole Party Committee admitted 446 new party members, reaching 21.3% of the year plan. In which, 49 party members have been developed in non-state-owned enterprises, bringing the total number of party members in the province to 49,979. The Provincial Party Standing Committee promptly promulgated documents to lead the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.
