Accordingly, the entire Information and Communication sector continues to thoroughly understand and effectively implement Directive No. 14/CT-TTg dated June 7, 2019 of the Prime Minister on enhancing network safety and security which aims to improve Vietnam's ranking index and the Project on enhancing the effectiveness of prevention and combat of law violations and crimes on the Internet, issued under Decision No. 1278/QD-BTTTT dated August 3, 2017.
Promote propaganda and warnings about the characteristics, signs, methods and tricks of committing violations so that all people can recognize and avoid them; improve the ability to distinguish official information from unofficial information; understand the law when posting, sharing, storing and using information on the Internet, proactively avoid, not commit illegal acts or abetting law violations.
Apply new technologies to detect, warn and prevent cyberattacks, and ensure information systems in accordance with the law.
Review and propose amendments and supplements to criminal and specialized laws in the direction of aggravating fines and penalties for violations and crimes on the Internet. Accelerate research and production of anti-cyber-attack products and platforms; software to protect personal computer safety when accessing the Internet.
The Department of Information and Communications advises the provincial People's Committees and centrally-run cities to direct specialized agencies under their control to improve their responsibilities and coordinate synchronously in preventing and fighting against law violations and crimes on the Internet. Advise and direct press agencies, radio, television, grassroots communication systems to develop information and propaganda programs on measures to prevent and combat Internet violations and crimes.
Strengthen supervision, checking, inspection, and strictly handle violations of the law on the Internet in terms of information and communication; promptly prevent malicious information, network attacks and other violations on the Internet.
