​As reported by the provincial Traffic Safety (TS) Committee, in the period of 2016-2020, the TOS situation in the province had positive changes, traffic accidents (TA) were restrained. In the past 5 years, the whole province had 8,664 TA cases, killing 1,531 people, injuring 9,054 people. In particular, in 2020, TA reduced all 3 criteria compared to 2016. Specifically, the number of accidents decreased by 33.6%, the number of deaths decreased by 15.6%, and the number of injured people decreased by 37.7%.

The patrol and control were maintained regularly, focusing on thematic patrol. Through the patrol, the functional forces found 497,598 violation cases, sanctioned 428,112 cases.

Also in the period of 2016-2020, the province focused on synchronous and drastic implementation of solutions, step by step overcoming traffic congestion (TC) in key areas with many industrial zones, clusters and high population density. However, the situation of local TC when having incidents still occurs at some intersections on National route 13, DT.743 road, My Phuoc - Tan Van road, etc.

In the period of 2021-2025, the provincial TS Committee strives to reduce TA by 5-10% all three criteria on the number of cases, the number of deaths and the number of injured people annually; reduce especially serious TA and TA caused by drinking alcohol or beer while driving a vehicle. At the same time, effectively overcoming the TC situation in key areas.

At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed the construction of bus routes connecting residential areas with commercial and shopping areas to reduce vehicle traffic load; investment in overpasses, underground tunnels on intersections; solution for overload in parking lots; regime for semi-specialized force 113, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha suggested that the Provincial TS Committee and localities, based on the actual conditions, have plans to deploy and implement measures to ensure the TOS closely and effectively; research and apply information technology in handling TS violations; strengthen propaganda of the law on TOS. The functional branches focus on quickly solving the TC, black spots on TA, flooding on roads; early complete solutions for traffic flow separation and set up fast response teams to handle traffic incidents. Strengthening patrol, control and handling TOS; raising awareness and responsibility of the contingent of cadres and civil servants in public service performance; building a culture of safe traffic, in which, upholding the exemplary role of cadres, public servants and public employees.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of merit to 16 collectives and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in ensuring TOS in the period of 2016-2020. The Provincial TS Committee awarded Certificates of merit to 12 collectives and 15 individuals with positive contributions in ensuring TOS in the period of 2016-2020 and 09 collectives and 13 individuals with achievements in implementing the "Traffic culture with safe waterways" campaign in the period of 2016-2020.
