At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Hung Dung briefly introduced the socio-economic development and science-technology activities of Binh Duong province. Binh Duong is currently a member of the World Technopolis Association (WTA), Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) and is voted as one of the 21 cities and regions with the world's typical smart city development strategy.
The province has issued many plans and support mechanisms to promote start-up activities. Up to now, the province has 29 ST organizations, 04 ST enterprises. In parallel, the province also focuses on promoting the technology application and transfer through propaganda and guidance on setting up the Enterprise ST Fund, guiding the establishment of ST enterprises. In order to develop an innovation, technology transfer ecosystem, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the ST Industrial Park in Bau Bang district with an area of 900 hectares, connecting traffic routes to Binh Duong New City and important areas of the province. Binh Duong is also deploying the construction of Center for Smart Manufacturing 4.0, to research and transfer technology to suit practical needs, attract domestic and international experts, and support enterprises in Binh Duong to produce more efficiently.
Binh Duong New City is considered as a highlight of the start-up field with a series of associated projects for innovation activities. The international-standard Becamex and Fablab business incubator at the Eastern International University is operating effectively.

Expressing his impression with the socio-economic achievements of Binh Duong province, Deputy Minister of ST Le Xuan Dinh said that ST development and innovation are identified as the driving force for the development of the country, in which, Binh Duong converges many advantages to apply ST and innovate to serve the development. The Deputy Minister assessed that the level and efficiency of Binh Duong's ST application reached a high rate, which is one of the highlights of the country. He wished that the provincial leaders would continue to pay attention to ST application activities and create favorable conditions in terms of organizational structure and personnel so that the ST sector would meet the requirements of assigned tasks.
