At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao briefly introduced the province's socio-economic development, investment attraction and foreign affairs activities during the past time. In 2020, the socio-economy of Binh Duong province continued to maintain a good development rate compared to the whole country. Up to now, Binh Duong has 3,928 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of over 35 billion USD, ranking the 3rd in the country in attracting FDI after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. For many consecutive years, the trade surplus rate of the province reached over 6 billion USD. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that at present, the number of Russian enterprises investing in Binh Duong is not much. Therefore, he expected the Consul General to continue to introduce investment opportunities in Binh Duong to Russian enterprises as well as create opportunities for Binh Duong province and Oryol city of the Russian Federation to cooperate more extensively and comprehensively.

Mr. Aleksei Vladimirovich Popov said that, during his time in Vietnam, he himself actively supported the development of the relationship between the provinces and cities in the South of Vietnam and the Russian localities; successfully organized visits and business trips to Vietnam by many delegations from Russian localities. He is very happy that Binh Duong has established a relationship with Oryol City.
