In 2016, in order to make a step forward in development and gradually divert the economy to high-tech services, and a green, smart and modern city, Binh Duong provincial authority implemented the Smart City project and cooperated with the sister city of Eindhoven in the Netherlands to apply the triple helix model of State, School / Research Institutes, and Entrepreneur. Binh Duong New City - the nucleus of Binh Duong Industrial - Service - Urban Complex, was selected to be built into Binh Duong Smart Zone. The introduction of Binh Duong brand and investment opportunities is one of the most important contents in building a smart city.
Up to now, Binh Duong Smart Zone has for 2 consecutive years of 2018 - 2019 been honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) as one of the localities and regions having typical smart city development strategies. In addition, Binh Duong continuously hosts world-class events such as the Asian Economic Cooperation Forum (Horasis), the Global Innovation Forum and the World Science Urban Association Conference with the participation of thousands of government leaders, corporations, institutes, and schools around the world. At these events, the prestige and brand name of Binh Duong have been affirmed in the international arena. At the same time, confidence of investors has been sustained.

At the same time, the breakthrough in attracting foreign investment and attracting knowledge workers is the foundation for the development of services and high-tech production in the future."
Government leaders, Binh Duong province and delegates visited Binh Duong new city model
In 2019, Binh Duong New City World Trade Center (WTC BDNC) became an official member of the World Trade Center Association (WTCA). Binh Duong is currently constructing the WTC BDNC project. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh, Director of WTC BDNC, said: "The first project related to the exhibition area on an area of 22,000 square meters is expected to be in the first phase of operation by future window attraction of about 10 annual international events and many other large or small events. On average, each event would attract 3,000-5,000 international visitors. This first project is also the next foundation for the next projects related to the area of the WTC BDNC building which has over 30 floors. This would attract foreign-invested companies to locate their headquarters, creating a lot of jobs as well as attracting more experts, which is the foundation for development. Upon completion, the WTC BDNC would be an ideal destination for business, cultural and community activities."
Currently, many activities of innovation and business support have opened up a strong start-up wave to build 'enterprise nurseries' and innovation centers that are closely connected to State, institutes, and enterprises in the process of attracting investments and resources. In addition, Binh Duong provincial authority is making efforts to promote e-government and create conditions to support and encourage businesses and organizations in the province to apply technologies, digitization, knowledge improvement, and smart factory development.
Destination of potentials
Binh Duong Industrial - Service - Urban Complex has an industrial land area of about 1,800 hectares. Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park 2 (VSIP 2) and extended VSIP 2, Song Than Industrial Park 3, Dai Dang Industrial Park, Phu Gia Industrial Park, Dong An Industrial Park 2, Kim Huy Industrial Park, and Mapletree High Tech Park are within the complex. The place attracted world major groups to invest. At the extended VISIP 2, TATA Coffee Group of India has invested a total capital of USD 65.5 million to built on an area of 80,000 square meters for capacity of 5,000 tons a year. Tetra Pak Group invested in Vietnam's first sterile paper box factory of totally EURO 120 million for production capacity of 12 billion boxes a year which can be increased to 20 billion boxes a year when the market grows.
Adolfo Orive, Chairman and CEO of Tetra Pak, said: "Binh Duong has a good investment environment. In the industrial park, the infrastructure is invested synchronously with modern and convenient transportation, very suitable for production, business and export activities. The new factory investment is a strong testament to Tetra Pak's long-term investment commitment in Vietnam in general and in Binh Duong in particular, contributing to the economic development of the nation and creating job opportunities as well as local industry promotion."
Fu Jung Tso, General Director of Sunching Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd of 100% investment capital from Taiwan in Dai Dang Industrial Park, said: "Our company has been operating in Binh Duong for 19 years. The industrial park is basically filled with factories of many large corporations in the world. In particular, the development of traffic, infrastructure, and urban areas is also the highlight that I would like to mention. The production and business activities of the company are very convenient."
In addition, the service, trade and urban fields in Binh Duong New City have attracted many large corporations, specifically, Tokyu Group (Japan) which has invested USD 1.2 billion to implement infrastructure projects and urban development, and NTT Vietnam Group (Japan) - a joint venture with Vietnam Technology and Communication Joint Stock Company with registered investment capital of USD 171 million.
The establishment of Binh Duong Industrial - Service - Urban Complex has attracted foreign investment resources to develop industry and transit the economic and labor structure along with improvement of production, maket expansion, and promotion of integration, contributing to elevation of local people's lives.
