​PORTAL - On the afternoon of December 19, in Thu Dau Mot city, Mr. Tran Van Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation welcomed Mr. Yamada Takio - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Vietnam visiting Binh Duong.

​​There were Mr. Vo Van Minh - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of departments, boards and branches welcoming the Ambassador.

To welcome Mr. Yamada Takio to visit and work in Binh Duong, Secretary of Party Committee – Mr. Tran Van Nam wished him a successful and impressive business trip.

The Secretary gave a brief information on the socio-economic situation of the province over the past time. In 2020, despite the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Binh Duong's socio-economic development is still developing quite stably. Up to now, Binh Duong has 3,928 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of over 35 billion 400 million USD, ranking the 3rd in the country in attracting FDI.

For many consecutive years, the export surplus rate of the province has reached over 6 billion USD; being one of the top provinces and cities in the country in terms of budget revenue and people's living standards. Currently, Japan is the leading country in investment in Binh Duong with 322 projects and a total investment of 5 billion 631 million USD, mainly in the fields of real estate, technical infrastructure, traffic, urban, technology. Japanese businesses are operating very effectively, actively contributing to the province's socio-economic development.

The Secretary emphasized that Vietnam and Japan have nearly 50 years of establishing a friendly cooperative relationship. In the spirit of expanding exchange and cooperation, Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi province, Japan have dissolvable friendship and continue to help each other develop comprehensively. Binh Duong province and some localities of Japan have visited and worked with leaders from both sides.

Japan also actively supports capital and experience for Binh Duong to implement water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment projects, bringing better lives for people. In addition, they are activities to promote the implementation of important transport projects such as the bus rapid transit (BRT) project connecting Binh Duong new city with Suoi Tien (Ho Chi Minh City); Metro urban railway project from Binh Duong new city to Suoi Tien; projects to expand the transport network, logistics system, etc.

The Secretary hopes that with the role and position of the Ambassador, it will positively influences on these projects to be implemented soon; at the same time, to introduce potential Japanese enterprises to explore the investment environment in Binh Duong, raising the relationship between the two sides to new heights.

In response to the Secretary of Provincial Party Committee – Mr. Tran Van Nam, Mr. Yamada Takio congratulated Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular for its very successful in the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic; At the same time, he believes that when the Covid-19 epidemic is controlled in the world, Vietnam will continue to be an attractive destination, attracting investors to invest, produce and do business.

The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam and Japan relations are facing extremely favorable conditions for development when the two countries have interactive, complementary economies and cultural similarities, which creates a close and trustworthy relationship between the people in two countries, creating a basis for comprehensive and substantive development in all fields.

Welcoming and highly appreciating the organization of the 3rd U13 Vietnam - Japan International Youth Football Tournament in Binh Duong from December 19 to December 20, 2020, the Ambassador emphasized that this was a meaningful culture exchange activity, contributing to increase solidarity and tighten the good friendship between Vietnam and Japan for nearly 50 years.

He also expressed his impression at the dynamic development of Binh Duong province and was delighted when Japanese businesses operating in Binh Duong province were increasing in number and expanding in size. In the coming time, he will continue to be a friendship connection, promoting a deep strategic partnership between the two countries.

At the same time, he also introduced Binh Duong's investment environment to Japanese partners; supported Binh Duong in the implementation of strategic key transport projects in the Southern Key Economic Region to promote the sustainable development of Binh Duong's economy.

The Embassy of Japan is also ready to support Binh Duong in human resource for training the workforce who wish to learn Japanese to meet the requirements of Japanese businesses being interested in investing in Binh Duong.
