Delivering a speech at the opening of conference, Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Binh Duong is one of the provinces with strong industrial development in Vietnam, Binh Duong province constantly improves the investment environment, improve competitiveness and enhance support for the development of investment enterprises in the province through improving the socio-economic infrastructure system such as: Simplifying administrative procedures; deploying human resource training; completing traffic infrastructure, water and electricity supply, environmental treatment, planning to expand industrial zones, creating a clean land fund for attracting investment; building social houses, houses for workers, providing sufficient and timely labor resources for businesses to invest in the province. Provincial leaders and leaders of departments of the province always create favorable conditions, promptly solve difficulties and problems of investors and businesses, and create favorable conditions for investors and businesses to operate their production and business efficiently.

Beside promoting socio-economic development, Binh Duong is also actively expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation relationships in many fields. Together with the Emilia-Romagna region, up to now, Binh Duong province has established bilateral cooperation relationships with 10 foreign provinces and cities and is an official member, a reliable partner of 04 international organizations in multilateral cooperation.

With a suitable development orientation and with its own efforts, Binh Duong province has achieved some encouraging results and is the first locality in Vietnam to officially become a member of the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). Continuously in 2019 and 2020, Binh Duong has been honored by ICF as one of 21 cities and regions having typical strategy of smart city development in the world (SMART 21). In the development strategy, Binh Duong province will continue to implement the project "Binh Duong - Innovation Region" - the continuation of Binh Duong Smart City Project together with the planning of Science and Technology Industrial Park, focus on deploying human resources training, developing science and technology, innovating start-up ecosystems, increasing the proportion of services, especially e-commerce, international trade with typical projects such as World Trade Center, Binh Duong New City.

At the conference, representatives of Italian units and businesses investing in Binh Duong introduced the investment environment of Binh Duong as well as the production and business situation of Italian enterprises in Vietnam. Enterprises appreciated the potential and advantages of the province in attracting investment; the companionship and support of the government to businesses; results achieved in building Binh Duong Smart City; the synchronous and modern transport infrastructure connecting the provinces and regions in the South.

On this occasion, Becamex IDC and the Italian - Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Emilia Romagna Chamber of Commerce signed a cooperation agreement in various fields.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – Mr. Mai Hung Dung hopes that in 2021 and the following years, Binh Duong will continue to receive active cooperation from the government of Emilia-Romagna Region and other partners to support the province to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand multilateral cooperation; create breakthrough steps in the process of international integration more and more deeply and create new development in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also welcomed Italian investors to explore opportunities and invest in Vietnam in general and Binh Duong province in particular.
