At the meeting, the two-sided exchanged some information related to the preparation for the project "Improving water environment in Binh Duong province". Up to now, the World Bank delegation has worked directly with the Binh Duong Wastewater Project Management Board and advised to prepare the project, invest in the construction of a new Tan Uyen wastewater treatment plant, capacity 20,000 m3 / day and night and collection system; Increase the capacity of Thuan An wastewater treatment plant, capacity of 20,000 m3 / day and night and collection system; Increase the capacity of Di An wastewater treatment plant, capacity of 20,000 m3 / day and night and collection system; To renovate the Tre stream - Tan Uyen drainage canal to collect the wastewater after treatment of the Tan Uyen wastewater treatment plant and drainage from the neighboring area.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truc thanked WB for sponsoring Binh Duong and accompanying the implementation of wastewater treatment projects in recent years, especially this big project. He suggested that the Provincial Wastewater Project Management Board coordinate closely with the investor and the departments, branches, localities to closely follow the progress of project survey and appraisal as well as implementation requirements to promptly report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee; At the same time, speeding up the preparation, strictly complying with the proposed plan so that the project is implemented on schedule and effectively.

On behalf of the World Bank, Mr. David Lord said he would send a team of technical, financial, social and environmental experts to review and support Binh Duong to successfully implement the project. It is expected that the approval of feasibility study report is on January 31, 2021; Time for negotiation is in February 2021. The time for negotiation and approval of WB Board of Directors is in March 2021. Therefore, the province needs to pay attention to a number of issues such as reporting on social safety, environmental impact assessment; to collect data for economic and financial analysis of the project; to set up a bidding strategy according to the World Bank's regulations and a bidding plan for the project in order to shorten the time for project survey and appraisal. He wished the Binh Duong government would provide maximum support to implement this project.
