PORTAL- On the afternoon of September 10, at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting of the Binh Duong Smart City Executive Board (Smart City).
The meeting is online connected to members of the Steering Committee at the broadcast in Eindhoven city (Netherlands).
At the meeting, the Executive Board of Binh Duong Smart City outlined the results achieved in the implementation of the Binh Duong Smart City Project for the period of 2016-2020. Accordingly, over the past time, Binh Duong has achieved important results in the construction of smart city. Typically, for 2 consecutive years, Binh Duong was voted by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) in the list of localities with the world's typical smart city development strategies; became an official member of the World Technopolis Association (WTA), the World Trade Center (WTC). In building e-government, Binh Duong ranked the 4th in the country for the application of information technology, Binh Duong Portal ranked the first among 63 provinces and cities. The achieved results are the important premise to promote Binh Duong's development in the future.
Overview of the meeting
According to the report, in 2020, the Covid-19 epidemic has affected all areas of social life, but agencies and units still focus on implementing the tasks set out in building a smart city. In particular, focusing on developing high quality human resources, innovative environment, promoting science and technology, applying into practice in all branches and levels; promote innovation in the community, support start-ups, build a good business environment for new businesses, and expand connections with existing businesses. At the same time, the province gives priority to development of the Science - Technology Industrial Park; building a smart supply chain and logistics ecosystem,; attracting domestic and foreign enterprises and institutes, paying special attention to advanced information technology, communication and production, promoting the construction of ICT systems; continue to implement the database system, e-government, administrative reform and public services, especially in supporting the people; step-by-step development of the smart city operations center, connecting to the shared database system, starting with the 1022 hotline system, which is the focal point to receive and promptly respond to information through many channels, facilities.
In the coming time, the tasks that need to be done are: Continuing to improve education, focusing on vocational training and digital skills; increasing added value to the economy; digitizing, broadbanding digital economy and services; innovation, 4.0 industry.
At conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Mai Hung Dung highly appreciated the implementation of the Binh Duong Smart City Project in the face of difficulties and challenges caused by the Covid-19 epidemic. Emphasizing the tasks that need to be focused on in the period of 2021-2026, the Standing Vice Chairman suggested members in the Binh Duong Smart City Executive Board to study solutions to implement the Project following the orientation development of Binh Duong province in the period of 2020-2025. Departments, boards, branches, localities, universities, enterprises promote projects on scientific and technological development; building e-Government; digitizing; applying scientific and technological achievements to improve the investment environment and the life quality for people.
