In the first months of
2020, although facing many difficulties and challenges, industrial production
activities had bright spots, maintaining a fairly good growth rate. The
business community, industrial production establishments took the initiative,
raised the spirit of overcoming difficulties, tried to adapt to the situation,
maintain production and try to stabilize jobs for employees. Many businesses,
organizations and individuals are interested in consulting and giving
suggestions to all levels and branches with many positive and feasible ideas to
restore socio-economic development.
Up to now, the domestic
pandemic has basically been controlled, businesses have also started to
approach supportive policies, make efforts to restore production and expand
consumption markets, so the province's industrial production has gradually
recovered and developed. The Index of Industrial Production in the first 6
months of the year was estimated to increase by 6.4% over the same period in
2019. According to Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Head of the Binh Duong Industrial Zones
Authority, due to early disease control, sectors of the economy are entering a
normal working state again, industrial production has prosperedand gradually
regained growth momentum from May 2020. Industrial zone investors and secondary
investors have invested in building infrastructure and factories with a total
capital of over VND 5.954 billion, subleasing land and factories with a total
area of 41.6 ha, foreign investment attraction reached USD 673 million. Up to
now, the province has 29 industrial zones with an area of 12.721 ha, land
rental rate is 84.4% and 12 industrial clusters with a total area of 790 ha,
land rental rate is 67.4%.

In the spirit of
proactive and drastic synchronization, the Department of Industry and Trade has
also implemented many activities to restore and promote the development of
industry - commerce in the new period. At the same time, the Department also
strives to best implement the goals of 2020 and create a good foundation for
growth in the coming years. Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade
has stepped up the reform of administrative procedures, creating favorable
conditions for businesses. Specialized departments also communicate phone
numbers and e-mail boxes to businesses to regularly receive feedback on
problems in the process of implementing relevant laws; at the same time to
answer and instruct promptly.
To promote the
production development of the remaining quarters of the year, the Department of
Industry and Trade is focusing on reviewing and solving difficulties in time
for industrial sectors and production projects, especially, manufacturing and
manufacturing companies to improve capacity, expand production and business
scale. At the same time, coordinating with a number of Foreign Direct
Investment (FDI), increasing the search for enterprises that produce domestic
raw materials and accessories that are capable of producing import substitutes
in a short as well as long term. In addition, the Department of Industry and
Trade coordinates with other departments and agencies to continue developing
industrial parks and industrial clusters to be more proactive in the supply of
domestic raw materials; proposing appropriate policy priorities, first of all
for the textile, garment and footwear industries and industries heavily
affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; have mechanisms to encourage the production
of domestic components and intermediate products to replace import substitution
etc.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan,
Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that in addition to
supporting and creating favorable conditions for businesses, the department
cooperates with Binh Duong Industrial Zones Authority to promote investment in
infrastructure construction, attract more production projects in industrial
zones and clusters; Strengthen the state management of land, create favorable
conditions, support enterprises to develop production and business etc. Since
then, contributing to the production and business activities of the industry,
continuing to maintain the growth ratein the first 6 months of 2020, positively
contribute to the total Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the province,
especially creating jobs and stable income for employees.
By 2020, the province will continue
to develop industry in association with urban development, stabilize its growth
rate and play an important role in promoting the development of other branches
and fields; giving priority to attracting and developing supporting industries,
modern technology, friendly with environment and less labor-intensive; at the
same time, fully prepare infrastructure conditions to call large investors with
long-term strategies; strive to increase the industry index in 2020 by about
9.55% compared to 2019.
