According to the signed content,
Becamex IDC and NUS cooperated to set up Block71 with a view to nurturing a strong
and innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam.
This collaborative initiative will
create a two-way flow for the exchange of talented individuals, technology and
startup companies, with the goal of encouraging creativity and promoting
startups in Vietnam and Singapore. Vietnamese and Singaporean start-up companies
can use Block71's global network of resources and relationships so as to launch
start-ups and gain access to international markets. Besides, this coolaboration provides more
opportunities for the information
exchange, connection and access to programs between Singapore, Vietnam and the
region.
Block71 in Vietnam is the latest
expansion of NUS's international startup gateway network, helping NUS companies
of startup and technology have access to new markets and vice versa, promoting
the access to NUS’s programs of education and innovation for Vietnamese
students and entrepreneurs.

Enterprise, with strategic cooperation and links with businesses and government
agencies, Block71 leverages the synergies of NUS Enterprise's vast experience widely known for being the main unit behind
the start-up ecosystem associated with Asia's leading University, as well as in
combination with the rich experience of
Becamex, the leading industrial infrastructure developer in Vietnam with a
system of the industry zones across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor
Freddy Boey - Vice Rector of National University of Singapore said: "NUS is
excited to start a partnership with Becamex to expand Block71's presence in
Southeast Asia. The new position of Block71 Vietnam will give individuals
participating in start-ups and innovation opportunities to reach new markets,
provide NUS students with interesting internship programs, and supply
information and access to innovative start-up programs, training programs in
Singapore like masters’ and NUS technology access programs. "

Block71 was named out of its origin
place - the Block71 building in the Ayer Rajah industrial complex in Singapore,
where abandoned industrial buildings were transformed into a strategic
geographic location for the innovation through the way of gathering and developing
a community of local tech startup. Besides Singapore, Block71 was established
in many other places such as San Francisco (USA), Jakarta, Bandung and
Yogyakarta (Indonesia) and two locations of Suzhou (China).

cooperation agreement
At the ceremony, Becamex IDC also
signed a contract with the Applied Informatics Mechanics Institute to
coordinate the construction of a high-tech center, aiming to establish the Applied
Informatics Mechanics Institute in Binh Duong.

NUS Enterprise and Becamex IDC will closely co-ordinate to build a vibrant and
sustainable start-up ecosystem, and construct a business developing bridge in
Vietnam, and additionally, Block71 supports startup businesses by providing:
