In the 1st quarter of 2019, the provincial People's Committee focused on implementing drastically Resolutions and Instructions of the Government, the Prime Minister, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council on the task of socio-economic development, defense - security in 2019; paying attention to the tasks of serving people to welcome 2019 Tet Holiday; urging sectors and levels to perform their tasks after the Tet holiday. The province's socio-economic situation has achieved positive results. Industrial production index is estimated to increase 7.16% over the same period in 2018. Total retail sale of goods and service revenue is estimated at VND 57,010 billion, up 14.6% over the same period. Trade surplus reached nearly US $1.8 billion. Business investment environment continues to improve; Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2018 reached 66.09 points (increased 1.62 points), ranking 06/63 provinces and cities (up 8 grades compared to 2017). By March 15th, 2019, the province has attracted VND 9,888 billion of domestic investment and US $ 545 million of foreign investment. Budget revenue in the quarter was estimated at VND 14,700 billion, reaching 27% of provincial People's Council's estimate, up 18% over the same period. At the same time, political security, social order and safety in the area are maintained and stable.

Quarter II/ 2019, the province focused on 09 key tasks related to the implementation of socio-economic targets in 2019 such as well performing the Population and Housing Census in 2019; remove difficulties for businesses; ensure traffic order and safety, take care of policy beneficiaries. At the same time, implement specific projects under Binh Duong Smart City Project; promote e-government implementation, provide online public services at level 3, 4 etc.
The meeting also reviewed and commented on the Proposal for building a Resolution of the Provincial People's Council to issue a regime to support collaborators to protect and care for children and gender equality in areas and hamlets in Binh Duong province; the Proposal for building a Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the regimes and policies to support civil servants, officials, employees and students in the province's Education - Training and Vocational Education sector.

Conclusion of the meeting, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Liem requested departments, branches and localities to focus on well performing key tasks in the 2nd quarter of 2019.
