At the meeting, two provinces evaluated the operation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the People's Committee of Binh Duong Province (Socialist Republic of Vietnam) and the Oryol Provincial Government (Russian Federation) signed in July 2017, discussing cooperation issues in many fields including industry, agriculture, information technology, education, science, tourism and cultural exchange.
Mr. Andrey Yevgenyevich Klychkov - Governor of Oryol province emphasized that Oryol region is very interested in expanding the export of regional products to Vietnamese market, one of the most potential markets in the world.
In 2018, Oryol province's trade turnover with Vietnam reached 3.8 million USD (exported 3.6 million USD, imported 0.2 million USD), this is 63 times over the same period of previous year (in 2017, export turnover with foreign country reached 60 thousand USD, no export activities with Vietnam were recorded). The Governor also added that in the national plan, Oryol province was assigned to increase exports at least twice.
Main exporting products of Oryol province to Vietnam includes tools, mechanical equipments, transportation and electric machine and the province has imported leather products, copper and metal products from Vietnam.
Moreover, Mr. Andrey Yevgenyevich Klychkov - Governor of Oryol province strongly believed that, there will be a promising cooperation in the field of high-tech agriculture, agricultural processing products between Oryol and Binh Duong provinces. In addition, he also emphasized that trading turnover agricultural product was manufactured by Oryol's agricultural enterprises (barley, sugar, sunflower oil, beans, wheat, corn, confectionery) will be more and more prosperous.
The two provinces agreed on the plan for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Oryol Provincial Government and the People's Committee of Binh Duong Province for the period of 2019-2021. In the near future, two sides are going to promote cooperation activities in the field of education and commerce.
The Governor expressed interest in developing cooperation between Oryol and Vietnam in the field of investment, by proposing to find potential partners from Vietnam to participate in the implementation of common investment projects. Besides, the education sector is also interested in and discussed looking forward signing the cooperation agreement between educational organizations of Oryol and Binh Duong Province, organizing student exchange programs between two localities.
The two localities will agree to organize an exchange of trade delegations with the participation of leading enterprises from both sides in order to establish business relationship and seeking potential partners as well.
In addition, the Governor also informed that Oryol Province's delegation will attend The III International Industrial Exhibition "Expo Russia Vietnam 2019" under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in November- 2019, Hanoi.
In response to the Governor, on behalf of Binh Duong's delegation, Mr. Tran Van Nam, Member of The Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Duong Party Committee expressed his gratitude to the warm reception of Mr. Andrey Yevgenyevich Klychkov - Governor of Oryol province for the delegation. At the meeting, Binh Duong's delegation also introduced the socio-economic information, opportunities and investment environment, the development situation of the province in order to build a friendly cooperative relationship, calling and attracting investment projects from the Russian market to Binh Duong.
Binh Duong's delegation also stated that Province will provide some scholarships for Oryol's students for studying at provincial universities. Moreover, Mr. Tran Van Nam, Member of The Party Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Duong Party Committee hoped the cooperation between the two provinces will become more and more developed in the coming time, based on the memorandum that the two localities signed in July 2017.
Mr. Tran Van Nam wished the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, relationship between Binh Duong and Oryol Province, became more prosperous and invited Mr. Andrey Yevgenyevich Klychkov early arrange a suitable time to visit Binh Duong province.
