Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of Binh Duong People’s Committee briefed the socio – economic achievements of the province as well as the FDI attraction. Binh Duong was honor to rank the third in term of FDI attraction among 63 provinces and cities of Viet Nam with more than 3,500 FDI projects of $32.8 billion. Japan is the second largest investor in Binh Duong province with nearly 300 projects, ($5.16 billion). The province completed almost its 2018 targets including industrial index, import-export turnover, FDI capital,…He appreciated the contribution of foreign investors including Japanese investors to the provincial socio-economic development.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Viet Long, Deputy General Director of Becamex IDC. cum Director of Binh Duong Smart City Office introduced briefly the Binh Duong Smart City Program, Binh Duong Navigator 2021 as well as Binh Duong Smart City Action Plan 2019. He highlighted 11 main projects among 80 projects that Binh Duong could have the cooperation with foreign partners to implement and build Binh Duong Smart city, including: Logistics; Sciences Tech Industrial Park; Back-end Semiconductor; Workforce knowledge; LED lighting; Business data base; ICT firms and university attracting; E-Government; Communication; Events/ Horasis; Sustainable development.

Mr. Fujiwara Yutaka shared the Japanese experiences in building smart urban and explained his impression on Binh Duong socio – economic achievements and Binh Duong Smart city Program. He will consider the cooperation possibilities with Binh Duong province in the area of building Binh Duong smart city in the future especially in MRT, urban development.
