BEGIC - Afternoon of March 8th, at Binh Duong province Administrative Center, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem - Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee welcomed and worked with H.E. Eric van Oosterhout - new Mayor of Emmen Municipality (Netherlands). Attending were Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Member of Provincial Standing Committee, General Director of Becamex IDC, and leaders of departments and sectors.
On behalf of provincial leaders, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Liem thanked the attention of the Mayor and the delegation for visiting Binh Duong. Introducing the province's socio-economic development in the past 20 years, Chairman of provincial People's Committee said, Binh Duong is the first province in the country to be recognized as a province with no poor households according to national criteria and the province has issued its own poverty line. The province's goal is to develop industrial production - urban - services, improve living standards of the people, not to let the big difference gap between urban and rural people. During the development process of the province, provincial leaders always pay attention to sustainable development. In the coming time, the province will continue to attract high-tech investment and modern technology to reduce the risk of affecting people's living environment.
Chairman of provincial People's Committee stressed that, Binh Duong and Emmen Municipality have many years of cooperation, support and assistance of Emmen Municipality for the development of the province. Chairman of the province wished that, in the coming time, with the tradition of cooperation, the two sides will become better, facilitates each other to develop, especially the cooperation in building Smart City.
The Mayor H.E. Eric van Oosterhout thanked the provincial Chairman for sharing his sincerity, as well as the orientation for future cooperation. At the same time expressed confidence in 2019, the two sides will prosper in cooperation.
