At the reception, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Liem briefly informed the Ambassador of Binh Duong's socio-economic situation and FDI attraction. To date, Binh Duong has attracted 294 projects capitalized at over 5.1 billion USD from Japanese enterprises, mainly in such fields as infrastructure, urban construction, trade and services, production of electronic components and high value added items, actively contributing to the provincial development. He said 2018 is a milestone that marks the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Apart from jointly hosting celebration events, Binh Duong has enhanced exchanges with localities in Japan and promoted investment with the enterprises in such areas.
The Chairman hoped that the cooperation relation between both nations would be increasingly enduring and he wanted the Ambassador to keep recommending the Japanese enterprises to come to understand the investment environment in Binh Duong.

For his part, Mr. Kunio Umeda thanked Binh Duong's authority for having supported Japanese enterprises. In addition to making a synchronous infrastructure construction, the provincial government has always accompanied with the enterprises. The Ambassador said that workforce's ability to speak Japanese fluently is one of key factors that make the Japanese enterprises decide to invest in production, so he expected that training the Japanese language would be promoted as one of the key factors for investment promotion. Along with that, he will join hands with the Japanese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in supporting Binh Duong province to carry out the project on improving public transport system, contributing to link traffic and facilitate the development of the enterprises in Binh Duong.
