BEGIC - Late June 29, Korea – Viet Nam Footwear Industries Association was established at a ceremony held in Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center. The event welcomed Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council; representatives of General Consulate of Korea in HCMC, leaders of provincial departments and sectors; and enterprises of Korea and Viet Nam.

Addressing the ceremony, Lee Young Man, president of Korea – Viet Nam Footwear Industries Association revealed over 100 Korean enterprises are investing in leather and footwear industries mainly in Binh Duong province. The Association is founded with 90 members, aiming at fostering the development of footwear industries in Viet Nam. It also focuses on enhancing the competitiveness through exchanging and cooperating programs between Korea, Viet Nam and other countries. The Association when operational is expected to create favorable conditions for enterprises to cooperate and improve their competitiveness. It hopes to raise its members up to 120 in 2018.
