BEGIC - On June 6th, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee received and worked with Adward McKenna, CEO of Australia's Samaras Corporation.
According to Adward McKenna, Samaras is one of the large-scaled businesses in Australia, supplying technical and building services. This working trip to Binh Duong is to seek for business and investment opportunities for a steel plan in Viet Nam and Binh Duong is one of the prominent provinces nationwide. He expected that local authorities will help Samaras to understand more about the investment climate in Binh Duong.
Deputy Chairman of Binh Duong provincial People's Committee briefed the socio-economic situation of Binh Duong, saying that in recent years Binh Duong has become one of the leading provinces in FDI attraction with its transparent investment climate. The province has now 3,400 FDI projects capitalized at nearly USD 31 billion, ranking second nationwide behind HCMC. 63 countries and territories have chosen Binh Duong as good destination for their investment and Australia has invested in Binh Duong with 27 projects and the working capital of USD 104 million, mainly invested in garment and textile, household wooden products and electronic appliances….
Liem highly appreciated Samaras for its decision to seek for business opportunities in Binh Duong and affirmed that local authorities are ready to support those enterprises in their business in Binh Duong while hoping that both sides will cooperate for mutual development.
