Addressing the meeting, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Tran Thanh Liem revealed that in 2017, Binh Duong made encouraging success in the fields of foreign affairs while it held successfully many important ad multilateral events on different sectors. The province honorably received many international and high-ranking diplomatic delegations, delegations of businesses and large-scaled economic corporations who came to visit and worked with Binh Duong. Also last year, it sent many high-ranking working delegations abroad, held many commercial promotion and investment cooperation programs in Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Republic of Korea, Japan, Israel, Finland, Australia, and New Zealand…Till now, the province has established friendly and cooperative relation with 10 provinces and cities of other countries.
Specific efforts on building up an attractive and clear business climate together with concentrating, drastic and prompt leaderships of provincial authorities in implementing key tasks of foreign affairs, in 2017, Binh Duong attracted USD 2 billion 557 million of FDI. The investment capital came from 185 new invested projects, 109 projects which have been supplemented with investment capitals, and 81 capital contributed projects. Till now, the province has totally 3,034 FDI projects capitalized at USD 28.33 billion, the capitals came from 64 countries and territories. Binh Duong is now ranked second in FDI attraction nationwide, accounting 9.4% of national FDI, just behind HCMC.
The above achievements are attributed to the close, enthusiastic and responsible cooperation of Consulates General, trading affairs organs ad foreign businesses Associations in HCMC.
The Chairman expected Consulates and foreign organs continue to accompany with Binh Duong and support the province in implementing international integration, widening international cooperative and exchanging relations in sectors of economy, socio-culture, technology and science with localities, territories of countries all over the world.
