BEGIC - At a meeting to evaluate the situation of dealing with cases of collective labor disputes and illegal strikes in 2017 as well as to implement the plans, guidelines and duties in 2018, Dang Minh Hung, Deputy Chairman of provincial People's Committee, head of provincial steering committee for collective labor disputes and illegal strikes settlement urged to raise awareness to control and restrict the situation of collective labor disputes and illegal strikes in the province.
In 2017, the situation of collective labor disputes and illegal strikes in the province has positively changed but it was remained complicated. Reportedly, there were different reasons leading to collective labor disputes and illegal strikes but mainly because the employers failed to satisfy the right and benefits of their employees. Many enterprises did not comply with the Labor Code about salary and wages, social insurance, subsidiaries, working conditions…that caused conflicts in labor relation.
At the meeting, leaders of departments, branches and localities discussed the plans, guidelines, responsibilities, organizational structure and operation regulation of provincial steering committee for collective labor disputes and illegal strikes settlement. The functions and duties of each member on when the situation happened were emphasized.
Concluding the meeting, Hung assumed that businesses and laborers have made remarkable contributions to the local development. To minimize the situation of collective labor disputes and illegal strikes, and protect the legitimate interests of both enterprises and laborers, organizations and localities should keep on raising awareness about the Labor Code among the business owners and employees. In addition, he urged that the situation should be soon grasped and cases of collective labor disputes and illegal strikes should be promptly dealt with. He emphasized the need of taskforce to monitor the situation in enterprises. Dialogues should be held to understand the aspirations and difficulties of enterprises and laborers so as to avoid slack-off and strikes
