At the reception, the Chairman congratulated new Consul General on his new term and wished him success in completing all tasks. He also briefly informed the new Consul General of the local socio-economic development. So far, the province has attracted more than USD 28billion in FDI capital with more than 3,000 enterprises from 64 countries and territories. Among the FDI projects in the province, there are 13 from India with a total investment capital of more than USD 100 million, mainly operating in the field of processing agricultural products. He hoped that the new Consul General will introduce the local investment climate to Indian enterprises and bring them to Binh Duong to run their business. Provincial leaders pledge to create good conditions for FDI enterprises, including ones from India to work effectively.
The new Consul General expressed New Year greetings to Binh Duong's leaders and people. He affirmed the fine friendship between Vietnam and India while saying that 2017 was the year to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations of the two countries. The bilateral trade between Vietnam and India in 2017 reached more than USD 10billion, up nearly 30% compared to 2016. The two countries will strive to achieve USD 15billion in bilateral trade in 2020.
K.Srijar Reddy thanked provincial leaders for their efforts in creating favorable conditions for Indian enterprises to work. He also hoped the two sides will boost cooperation in the fields of information technology, education, hi-tech agriculture…On this occasion, he invited provincial leaders to visit India for learning about cooperation opportunities to develop together.
