The second phase of the Binh Duong waste treatment complex has the investment capital of around VND 180 billion, comprising of work items: installing an 820 KW electric power generation assembly fueled by biogas from the collected waste; building an incinerator burning hazardous waste with the daily capacity of 100 tons; doubling the capacity of compost organic fertilizer plant up to 840 tons per day.
The total investment for Binh Duong waste treatment complex project is valued at USD 30.5 million from Finland's ODA. The complex has an area where solid waste is treated and recycled into compost with a daily capacity of 480 tons; an incinerator burning industrial waste and hazardous waste with a capacity of 320 tons a day, another incinerator burning medical waste with a capacity of 3 tons a day; an industrial leaching treatment system with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per day.
The highlight of the project is the closed waste treatment technology. Specifically, the collected waste is used to produce compost and biogas from the process is used to generate electric power with the estimated capacity of 2,000 KwA, equal to 1.600KW. The electric power is then connected to the power grid and transmitted to the compost organic fertilizer plant automatically.
At present, Binh Duong waste treatment complex receives each day 1,200 tons of household waste, 400 tons of industrial waste, 200 tons of hazardous industrial waste and 3 tons of medical waste. The operation of the complex not only contributes to reducing environmental pollution but forming effective waste treating and recycling technology which is natural resource saving and beneficial to society as well.
