Promote economic growth and investment attraction
According to a report presented by Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee at 5th Meeting - People's Council of Binh Duong Session IX, in 29 major targets in accordance with Provincial People's Council Resolution, the province has exceeded 10 targets, achieved 18 targets and 01 target has not reached (the rate of establishments that cause serious environmental pollution is 99.6%, 100% of target).
Gross Regional Domestic Product in 2017 increased by 9,15% (up 8,3% compare to plan); GRDP per capita reached 120 million VND (planned 115,4 million). Economic structure shifted in the right direction with proportion of industry- service- agriculture- import tax respectively 63,99% - 23,68% - 3,74% - 8,59% (planned 63,4% - 23%, 4.0% - 8,9%).
Industrial production continued to improve; industrial development index increased 10,98% (increased 8,8% compare to plan). Total retail sales of goods and services reached VND 161.357 billion dong, up 19% compared with 2016 (increased 18,5% compare to plan). Import and export activities are strongly developed; Export turnover is estimated at US $ 28,5 billion, up 17,6% (increased 15,7% compare to plan). Import turnover is estimated at US $ 23,9 billion dollars, up 18,2%; trade surplus reached over US $ 4,7 billion.
The province continues to restructure agricultural sector associated with new rural construction. The production value of agriculture, forestry and fishery is estimated to increase 4% (increased 4% compare to plan). Management of environmental resources is paid attention.
State budget revenue in the province is estimated at VND 46.500 billion, surpassing 2% of Central budget estimates and 1% of the estimate of provincial People's Council, up 16% over the same period. The total development investment capital of whole society is estimated at 81.264 trillion dong, up 11,6% (increased 11,2% compare to plan). Total budget expenditure is estimated to reach 100% of draft budget of provincial People's Council Resolution. The sector has actively implemented solutions to reduce tax debt to 4,8% compared to domestic revenue.

One of the outstanding results in 2017 in Binh Duong is the situation of attracting investment. The province continues to implement solutions to improve the business investment environment, support business start-up. Domestic capital investment increased compared to 2016, foreign direct investment far exceeded the plan. By November 30th, 2017, domestic investment attracted VND 44,046 billion (up 51,4%); up to now, the province has 30.571 business registration, total registered capital VND 234,722 billion. Foreign direct investment reached USD $ 2,557 billion, surpassing 82,6% of the year plan; up to now, the province has 3.034 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of USD $ 28,33 billion.
In addition, the province has focused on upgrading and renovating urban areas; actively implement Binh Duong Smart City Scheme.

Social security is guaranteed
In 2017, the socio-cultural targets according to Provincial People's Council Resolution reached and exceeded the plan. Social security is paid attention to full and timely implementation; mobilize many resources to tale care for policy families, people with merit on the occasion of 70th anniversary of War Invalids – Martyrs. During the year, the province spent nearly VND 948 billion on social security activities.
Poverty reduction and policies for poor households and near-poor households are implemented synchronously in the locality. Funding for poverty reduction is VND 198 billion. Currently, the province has 3.620 poor households, accounting for 1,23% and 3.034 near-poor households, accounting for 1,03%.
Career guidance, counseling and job introduction continue to achieve positive results, all indicators increased compared to the previous year. Set up new jobs for 45.500 people (reaching 101,1% of the plan).
The quality of education and training is improved. Up to now, the proportion of public schools in the province has reached 70,4%, reaching 65,1% national standard. Qualified teachers have reached 99,84%. Graduation rate of high school in 2017 reached 97,72% (up 11,22% compared to 2016).
People's health care is interested in investing infrastructure, equipment and team of nurses, doctors The percentage of people participating in Health insurance reached 81,8% (up by 6,31% over the same period of 2016), achieved targets assigned by Prime Minister.
