​The conference agreed on the achievements of socio-economic development, defense and security situation in the province in 2017. In the 2^nd year of implementation of Resolution of the 10^th Provincial Party Congress, under the leadership of provincial Party Committee, the supervision of Provincial People's Council and the drastic direction of all levels, socio-economic development of Binh Duong province has continued to develop, political security and social order have maintained stable. 29 key targets in the Resolution of provincial People's Council were implemented, 10 targets exceeded the plan, 17 targets reached the plan and 02 targets not reached but still increase compared to 2016. Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 8.5%; GRDP per capita reached VND 115.9 million. The economic structure has shifted in right direction; industry is still considered as major industry with Industrial Development Index increased by 10,98%.

Besides, the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in 2017 have closely followed political tasks, basically completing program and plan. Thereby, strengthening political system; enhancing leadership role of Party committees, effectiveness of state management, core role of uniting the people of all levels of Fatherland Front and mass organizations, contributing to the effective implementation of socio-economic development, national defense and security.

The meeting approved the Resolution of Executive Board of provincial Party Committee on direction and tasks in 2018. It is clear that, in 2018, continue socio-economic development in the direction of stable and sustainable growth; focus on improving the quality of people's lives. Making clear progress in implementing 04 breakthrough programs in developing high quality services, mobilizing resources for investment in socio-economic infrastructure development, urban development, improving the quality of human resources associated with building Binh Duong Smart City.

At the conference, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Tran Van Nam emphasized some key tasks to be implemented in 2018, contributing to the completion of targets set forth in the Resolution of the 10^th Provincial Party Congress. That is, continue to improve investment environment, enhance competitiveness; accelerate infrastructure construction of industrial parks and industrial clusters according to the planning. Accelerate administrative procedures reform and build the professionalism of cadres and civil servants, especially who are in direct contact with people. Focus on building and embellishing urban, ensuring the right roadmap to build Binh Duong into a grade-I urban by 2020 and implementing Binh Duong Smart City Scheme. Drastically accelerating the progress of basic construction; properly allocating budget for key projects. There is a need of socialization in infrastructure investment. Together with economic development, attention should be paid to development of culture, society and environment in order to improve material and spiritual life of people; forecasting population change to find solutions to meet the needs of social security, especially in the field of health and education. Firstly, it is necessary to well recruit and call on citizens to enlist in 2018; ensuring security order and social welfare of Lunar New Year. ​​
