2017 Binh Duong Smart City Conference will take place in 3 days (November 25th – 27th with 5 main activities: General Session, Hackathon Contest, Exhibition, Scientific Conference and Business Conference. In which the most important program will be the General session taking place on November 27th 2017.
This conference aims to introduce vision, direction and initiation process of Binh Duong Smart City Scheme, contributing to sustainable development of the province; facilitating discussions and sharing ideas from leaders and experts in the world and in the country about vision, strategy, action program of smart city schemes around the world, compare and propose practical ideas for the case of Binh Duong in the coming time.

At the press conference, representatives of press agencies questioned the direction of building and developing Binh Duong Smart City, implementation timeline, initial results over one year implementation and follow-up steps. Binh Duong provincial leaders, Becamex IDC Corporation and Brainport Group responded specifically to reporters' questions.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Mai Hung Dung emphasized that, Binh Duong Smart City Scheme is a strategic program of socio-economic breakthrough of the province until 2021, vision of 2030, towards a high value-added economy, urban planning in smart direction, creating the premise to advance the intellectual economy. In contrast to the conventional approach to Smart City as purely focused on the application of advanced technologies to address specific regional issues such as e-government, transport etc., Binh Duong emphasizes great vision to create a breakthrough of comprehensive innovation in which people are the focus. For Binh Duong, Smart City can be understood as a dynamic, innovative and connected ecosystem, in which all components are constantly improving, innovating and optimizing. Permanent Vice Chairman emphasized, this is a very important conference of the province and will be held on large scale with international level, showing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and dynamic province.
General Conference on
Binh Duong Smart City will be held on the morning of November 27th
2017 at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center with the participation
of about 1.000 people. At the conference, representatives of Eindhoven city,
Consulate General of the Netherlands, international and domestic experts on
smart city directly related to Binh Duong such as developing policies, digital infrastructures and ICTs,
building green buildings, involving people in building smart city, sharing
knowledge about the development of smart cities around the world etc., and the
2017 Hackathon Awards.
Business conferences,
scientific conferences will be held on the afternoon of November 27th
2017, enterprises and organizations will present topics related to ideas,
projects, contributions of enterprises in building Binh Duong Smart City,
Triple Helix model as well as sharing new trends and scientific themes, which
contributing to the development of Binh Duong Smart City, in which topics
related to linked and open data would be of top concern.
The Hackathon contest
will take place from November 25th to November 26th 2017
at Eastern International University. Contest’s topic is design of state management applications for
Binh Duong (on mobile or web) in
areas that are in line with current requirements of the province such as
tourism information, transportation information, information for citizens on
policies, real-time display of
environmental parameters - climate – pollution etc.
Exhibition on Smart City
will be held from November 25th to 27th 2017 at the
Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, with the participation of
enterprises of electricity, electronics, information technology, high
technology; start-up businesses,
small and medium enterprises; universities, research institutes etc.
