Binh Duong – the potential destination for the investors
Situated in the hub of south eastern region, adjacent to HCMC, the largest economic center of the country, airport, seaports…with temperate tropical climate, fairly level terrain and hard ground suitable to infrastructure building, Binh Duong province proves its potentials in economic development. The statistic figures show that the province has now 28 industrial zones covering an area of 10,560 hectares and 8 industrial compounds on an area of 800 hectares. According to the adjustment of the local IPs planning under the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No.173/TTg-KTN dated January 28, Binh Duong will have 33 industrial zones with 14,790 hectare till 2020.
The road system connects the IPs, urban and residential zones, rural areas…thoroughly to other neighboring provinces and cities. Up till now, the province, the place that people of all corners have chosen to live and work, has basically met the criteria of the first-class urban city and is striving to become the smart city in future.
Upon the above, Binh Duong has become an attractive destination for investors. Nearly 30,000 enterprises with the total investment capital of around VND 227,505 billion have registered their business. It has so far housed over 3,000 investment projects from 59 countries and territories worth of around USD 27.89 billion of FDI, rank second among 63 provinces and cities nationwide in attracting FDI.
Groundbreaking ceremony of Tetra Pak in Viet Nam - Singapore II-A industrial park
In September of 2017, the province absorbed over VND 39,000 billion, a robust increase/acceleration of 51% compared with the year-plan. Many foreign and domestic enterprises have added capital to their original investment to expand their production. Some factories are put into operation and many other investment projects have started their construction. Indian-based Tata Coffee Group and Swiss-based Tetra Pak Packaging Company are typically among those enterprises that started building their factories in Binh Duong this year.
Said Sudhakar Pathey Jawaharal, Vice General Director of Tata Coffee Viet Nam affirmed: "Tata is an India's large-scaled Group that has decided to invest over USD 60 million to build a free-dried coffee factory in Binh Duong. The construction has been started in Viet Nam - Singapore II-A industrial park and the factory is expected to be put into operation next year. The Group hopes to make more contribution to the budget collection plan of the province and to create more jobs for local people."
Meanwhile, Dang Quoc Viet, Director of Viet-Nhat Electronic and Refrigeration Co., Ltd said: "I highly appreciate the investment climate in Binh Duong, the accompany and support of provincial authorities to the development of enterprises. I believe the priority policies and solutions of the province will enable business community in Binh Duong achieve greater success, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality."
