Lai Xuan Thanh, Director of provincial DoIC chaired the conference, in attendance of Dr.Sang Koen Lee, former Director of the National Infrastructure Research Department under South Korean Institute for Residential Research, representatives of departments and sectors in the province.
At the conference, Dr.Sang Koen Lee shared experience in smart city development from South Korea, India together with some issues regarding Binh Duong's smart city development and construction.

He said that smart city development was implemented in four cities in South Korea and 3 provinces in India based on basic foundations: operating center, sensor information system, public transport vehicles and smart equipment. In Vietnam, smart city development requires basic issues, comprising of smart citizens, definition of existing elements and ones that need to be promoted, integrated administration services…According to him, Binh Duong now meets basic elements on smart city development and needs to specify that the goal of smart city development is to improve the effectiveness of State administration and the quality of people's lives.

Mr.Thanh said that the conference aimed to share experience in smart city development from countries around the world like South Korea and India, thereby seeking appropriate solutions to turn Binh Duong into a smart city in the future.
