In the morning of October 31st, at Binh Duong Water – Environment JSC, Provincial People's Committee coordinated with World Bank to organize a workshop to initiate wastewater drainage and treatment in Di An.
Attending the workshop was Tran Thanh Liem, the Deputy Chair of Provincial People's Committee and leaders of local departments and agencies, and people's committees in wards belonging to the project scope, Binh Duong Water – Environment JSC, Abed Khalil, the water specialist of World Bank, and Nguyen Quang Vinh, the specialist of water supplying and sanitation.

Addressing the workshop, Tran Thanh Liem, the Deputy Chair of Provincial People's Committee, on behalf of local leaders, thanked World Bank for its sponsorship of the project of wastewater drainage and treatment in Di An while stressing on the practically new project of environment treatment. The Deputy Chair required departments and sectors of Di An, and the project management board to observe the recommendations and guidance of World Bank at the workshop to propose suitable management regime.
At the workshop, the rotation of sponsorship of World Bank ever since the project recognition was introduced along with some assessment of the project in urban areas of Vietnam, experience of such project, especially regarding the management of contract, bidding, finance, and supervision.
An unnamed representative of World Bank recommended that the project management board should improve its competence of coordination, consultancy, and management of constructions and he was hopeful that the competent authorities of the province should help to promote the project.

The project costs about US$ 115 million, of which, World Bank has financed US$ 92 million while Binh Duong Province has made counter-balanced of US$ 23 million to design the capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day night in the first stage initially at 5 wards of Binh An, Di An, Tan Dong Hiep, Dong Hoa, and An Binh of Di An Town.
The project is to enhance the control of pollution of water resources and termination of illegal wastewater releasing while facilitating effective water resource use an assuring safety of Dong Nai River and living quality of local people.
