Binh Duong province has attracted US$ 4.9 billion from Japanese enterprises
Until now Japanese enterprises tops the list of 39 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong with 232 projects, total investment capital of US$ 4.9 billion on many areas such as infrastructure, urban-trade-services, technology, car industry, auxiliary industries and food industry.
Mostly the projects have large investment capital and use high technology. In infrastructure development and retail areas, the project of AEON Binh Duong Canary Shopping Center of AEON Viet Nam, Binh Duong branch has the biggest investment capital among Japanese projects in the province with US$ 95 million.
H.E. Satoshi Nakajima, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City stated that the relation between Viet Nam and Japan is growing significantly. Currently there are over 200 Japanese enterprises investing in Binh Duong because the province has an attractive investment environment. In the future, Japanese businesses will continue pouring investment capital into the province.
Mr. Nakata Yasuyuki, Director General of Becamex - Tokyu Co., Ltd said that the company invested US$ 1.2 billion on Tokyu Binh Duong Urban Area project in which there are sub-projects such as Sora Gardens Apartment, Hikari Food court and shopping area, bus project linking Thu Dau Mot City and Binh Duong New City, etc.
Since the beginning of 2015 there has been many Japanese businesses choose to invest in Binh Duong. Some typical projects are Nippon Chemiphar Viet Nam Joint Venture Company with US$ 25 million, Ojitex (Viet Nam) Co., Ltd with US$ 30 million, both are in Viet Nam - Singapore Industrial Parks.

Investment on areas that fits provincial investment attraction orientation
The growing numbers of Japanese companies invest in Binh Duong province prove that the province has an attractive, dynamic and favorable investment environment.
During the working visit to Binh Duong province of Yamaguchi prefecture high-ranking delegation last August, Mr. Tsugumasa Mukaora, Governor of the prefecture informed that in recent years there were many businesses in Yamaguchi interested in the investment in Binh Duong. In the future, Yamaguchi prefecture government will hold working trips to study the province’s investment opportunities.
Mr. Hatahara, member of the delegation stated the intention of the trip was to strengthen and sharpen the friendly cooperation relations between two parties as well as discuss cooperation opportunities in areas such as industry, trade, investment, tourism, education, agriculture, etc in order to make contribution to the development of two localities.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Director General of Becamex IDC, the province has prepared a good infrastructure in order to best facilitate investors. The construction of Viet Nam - Japan Industrial Park with total area of approximately 200 hectares would boost cooperation and exchange activities between Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture as well as Japanese businesses in the future.

At the working session with Yamaguchi prefecture, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee affirmed that this was an opportunity for two parties to discuss and implement the MoU signed in 2014. At the same time two parties will actively boost exchange and cooperation activities on many areas for mutual development and prosperity. This is also a valuable chance for Yamaguchi leaders to know more about the provincial socio-economic development, infrastructure investment and some major projects of the province. Provincial leaders committed to greatly facilitate Japanese enterprises in particular and foreign businesses in general to operate their projects in the province.
