Initially Mr. Phu Huu Minh - Deputy Director of Department of Planning and Investment briefly introduced socio-economic development of the province in recent years. Korea is the third biggest foreign investor with 515 projects worth a combined US$2 billion. Binh Duong province is now an attractive investment destination of Korean firms. From January to July of 2015 there are many Korean businesses visited the province for information on investment opportunities. In this year only, Binh Duong has attracted 25 newly-registered projects and 14 projects that increase their capital with total investment capital of US$134.2 million so far. Specifically Castec Vietnam pledged worth US$14.4 million for an auto and electronic components project and NPC Toda registered to spend US$30 million producing plastic products; Remote Solution Viet Nam Co., Ltd. in My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park invested US$10 million in remote control production plant, etc.

At the event representatives of Korean firms raised their questions and problems regarding labor policies, intellectual property rights, tax policies, the immigration of foreign workers, etc. The questions were clearly answered by representatives of provincial departments.

Speaking at the event - Mr. Park Noh Wan appreciated the attention and supports for Korean firms from provincial authorities and informed there will be many more enterprises invest in the province. He promised to coordinate with Korean Business Association in Viet Nam and Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee to further facilitate Korean businesses’ operation.

Vice Chairman Liem stated for many years the province has held many dialogues with businesses to help solving their problems and difficulties. He acknowledged the investment and operation of Korean enterprises have made contribution to the provincial socio-economic development, created jobs for local people. Mr. Liem also promised to greatly facilitate business operation and promptly solve their problems and difficulties.
