As of October 31st, 2013, VSIP and Mapletree IP in Binh Duong have 21 new FDI projects worth $100.6 millions and 41 projects increasing capital worth $212.6 millions to expand their business. Up to now, Provincial IPs administrated by VSIP Management Board have directly managed 365 FDI projects with total registered capital of $4.77 billions and 20 domestic projects with VND3,834 billions.
Revenue enterprises in 2013 reached 4.8 billion U.S. dollars, which is 6.67% higher than the proposed plan. Created jobs for 8,000 labors, increasing the total number of labors working at VSIP’s businesses by over 119,000 labors.
At the conference, enterprises put forward their opinions on implementation of tax, invoice, the market, and macroeconomic policies; import-export, salary regulations; maternal leave policy, infrastructure including electricity, water, telecommunication, security order, traffic and so on.
Reply recommendations of companies in the field of taxation, Director of Binh Duong Department of Taxation, Mr. Le Van Trang said, because the tax regulations, related policies change frequently, Tax Department regularly directed to Tax Sections to deploy specific guidance for businesses on new tax regulations and related policies to help businesses capture timely, regular.
On the minimum wage, overtime and training skilled workers, Vice Director of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Department Mr. Nguyen Phung Trung said that the minimum wage is must prescribed by the Government. Therefore the province can not adjust it, the overtime compliance with the Labor Code. For the skilled labor force, enterprises should order vocational schools to train the suitable faculties, ensure the number of students balanced to employment needs.
Concluding the dialogue, Chairman Le Thanh Cung, on behalf of provincial authorities, has recognized the contribution of the VSIP business, Mapletree IP in Binh Duong on economic social development of the province. The proposals were outlined at the conference expressed candidly about the business of the obstacles and difficulties to provincial leaders will give the appropriate solutions.
For pending matter, Chairman proposed business to meet directly departments to provide appropriate remedies, if not satisfied; Provincial People’s Committee will work directly businesses to settle in as soon as possible.
Chairman also suggested, firms should develop their strategies once the Economic Agreement Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) taking effect. The province had fully prepared the necessary conditions to attract investment and expanding investment by foreign investors, in which the province is promoting the establishment of subsidiary industries, textiles - fibers industries with an area of over 300 ha.
