Mr. Toyoda Masatomo - JICA Senior Advisor at Ho Chi Minh City informed the  Project of Binh Duong Public Transport Improvement proposed by JICA and is going to coordinate with Tokyu Group (Japan) in implementation. JICA will provide technical assistance during the practicability study of the project (Technical Cooperation Project) and capital support in the form of low-interest loans or grant aid.

 

 

 

The project purpose aim to limit the use of cars and change to public transport and reduce environment pollution. Selected public transport is bus, due to the fast moving, carrying lots passengers and lower-cost than the subway. In addition, the project also refers to the serving quality improvement of drivers and his assistants and the application of modern techniques in bus management as electronic card system, schedule, etc…

 

On behalf of the Province, Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Liem expressed his thanks to JICA for choosing Binh Duong to implement the project. After the project implement, It will improve the quality in public transportation, especially to facilitate the transport connection between Thu Dau Mot City with the political and administrative center (The Binh Duong Industrial - Services - Urban Complex) and surrounding areas. Vice Chairman also suggested, firstly, JICA should cooperate Becamex - Tokyu in deploying 3 bus connections as the route from Thu Dau Mot city to Administrative center, the route around South Ben Cat - North Tan Uyen - Dai Nam Wonderland and the route from Administrative Center to Suoi Tien (HCMC).

  

Technical Cooperation Project is the support from JICA for developing countries. Depending on the specific project, the technical assistance includes of training from JICA advisor for officials to enhance the qualification, providing equipments and finance support.
