Mr. Le Thanh Cung, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee – Chairman of Binh Duong province People’s Committee, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Van, Vice Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong People’ Committee and leaders of provincial departments and agencies and the People’s Committee of districts, towns and city, representatives of damaged enterprises.
After the incident on May 13, the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee directed to implement drastic measures to support affected enterprises under the direction of the Central Government. Specifically implemented tax extension, reduction and exemption, tax refund for businesses with total money of more than VND 544 billion; reduced and exempted infrastructure and land rental fees in 2014 with more than VND 100 billion; applied import tax and VAT exemption on the replacement of machines and components; extended import tax and VAT, refunded import tax on domestic-used materials with total money of more than VND 584 billion. Simultaneously insurance companies advanced insurance compensation for affected firms, the compensation worth VND 107 billion.
Besides, following the direction of the Government and the province, in some sectors such as natural resources and environment, construction, labor – invalids and social affairs, social insurance and banking carried out support policies. Relevant departments and agencies also helped businesses to restore data and conduct administrative formalities, creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises.

At the meeting, representatives of firms expressed their appreciation on the endeavor of provincial leaders and departments, agencies for swiftly deployed drastic support measures, repair damage and help the enterprises to resume their normal activities. They also demanded provincial departments and agencies to inform clear business support policies. Representatives of the Department of Taxation and Customs replied all enterprises’ questions on tax support polices, land rental fees and insurance compensation… that help businesses to know thoroughly about the Government support policies and develop trust in the direction of leaders.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Le Thanh Cung confirmed that Binh Duong province will always be responsible and continue to assist enterprises in the future. He promised to direct the departments such as taxation, customs, natural resources-environment to keep updating and explaining the Government policies to enterprises. Under the direction of the Government, the province will pay 70% of work-suspended salary for workers. Provincial leaders also actively work with the Ministry of Finance on insurance compensation for businesses.
Chairman Cung also informed that with the approval of the Government, in September 2014, Binh Duong province would offer a credit package which worth VND 1,000 billion from provincial budget to support damaged firms. The province will work with banks to offer preferential loans interests rate for companies to invest on facilities and infrastructure. In the above-mentioned VND 1,000 billion package, the province will support 50% of loan interests.
Chairman Le Thanh Cung expressed his hope that the support policies would effectively support businesses, helping them overcome difficulties and resume their normal production.
